windows file explorer collapsing folder view

This is a fairly new behaviour for windows file explorer. If you plug in or remove a USB stick, it collapses the folder tree for everything, including C drive. Very annoying if you have just finished locating all the folders you want to copy onto the USB stick, or just want to keep them visible.

Anyone know how to stop it doing this?

Hey FD, A quick search i found this.

Right click the drive letter that represents the flash drive and select Eject instead,
I've never had explorer close after using Eject,

Explorer is not closing. It is collapsing the tree (folder) view.
