Dan Andrews awarded Companion of the Order of Aust

So the monumentally incompetent Dan Andrews has been awarded a Companion of the Order of Australia by the incompetent Albanese government. Former Labor Premier Mark McGowan at least deserves his, having left his State in good condition. Andrews, on the other hand, doesn't deserve to even look at one. Almost 800 Victorians died on his watch due to his bungled COVID hotel quarantine plan, and don't forget the 30+ nursing home residents who died as well. Victoria spent almost 12 months in lockdown - the longest in the world just about. When he resigned (jumped before he was pushed by fed-up voters), the State was looking at a debt of more than $150bn and a budget blowout of almost $20bn. If he had an ounce of integrity - and we all know he doesn't - he'd refuse to accept this award. He simply doesn't deserve it.

Hi Armchair_Politician,

isn't the Dan debt closer to $250 billion ?
It's more than NSW, QLD and Tassie combined.

He locked us down for 262 days -
one of the longest lockdowns in the world.
We were under house arrest and the cops turned into thugs.
People were arrested and given massive fines for sitting on park benches
by themselves outside in the sun.

You were nominated however, your terrible handling of the OMC during snorting was a large consideration in not considering you for the award. You must have noticed the plethora of eardrums and other bodily parts strewn around the boat following yet another crash “stop snorting”. Perhaps next year?

Not really.

Anyone can nominate any Australian they like, and the decision is then made by the Council for the Order of Australia (an independent body).

All the Prime Minister does is recommend the community representatives to go on the Council and they are then appointed by the Governor General.

I have been slandered! My OMC handling was always exquisite and a joy to behold. I laugh at a heavy boat, 5 down and back pressure! The fault lies with nervous engine room people who were afraid to live on the edge! Grin
