Gawd, gardening is hard work!
Chop ground, follow with trenching shovel to dig the shallow trench. When that done, spread some blood and bone in the trench.
Got a bag, last one, of gypsum. Bloody gypsum is rather wet, be a PITA to spread it. Bit late in the day, run the weepy hose down the trench, turn tap on.
Tomorrow spread gypsum, cover with soil, plant seeds, rake soil over so seeds are like 2cm under the ground.
Ugh, near the side fence is that yellow clay that is rocklike when dry. Swapped hoe for pick there! Going to really work on that yellow clay for the rest of the year.
Gardening is very hard work.
It requires a lot of planning, a big effort, ongoing application, measuring, estimating, you are outdoors in the elements, experience, you have to cater to many variables, contact during the whole season and some luck.
It is one of the better activities you can do for yourself.
