Why is the ABC full of ads about itself?

Like really, despite the suspect comments and abrasive actors I think I enjoy our National broadcasting company.

But the endless self promotion via ads is simply too hard.

I would rather hear what Bunnings has on offer?

Please ABC.

When did you decided that it’s ok to run boring advertising about yourself?

Perhaps, that last sentence sums up “ today ABC”.

Nobody else would advertise on the ABC.

Spies in the outback was a very good documentary.

Twenty times ago?

Who is running these repeats?

Truly, be on the suspect political comments it’s totally failing on providing any decent content!

The ABC produces and purchases programs which run for 45 or more minutes.  They end up with 5-15 minutes of "dead time" at the end and start of a program, so why not fill it with an advert for themselves?  Makes commercial sense.  I particularly like some of the inventive ways they sell their on-demand video service' .  Smiley

But they aren't " commercial". They are publicly funded!

They must be able to find some struggling actor and writers who could put together 15 minutes of entertainment couldn't they?
If they can't do better than repeat the same show weekly for months I suggest the taxpayer should ask the government pull the public funding!?!

I'm also not rusted on right.

Why must I sit through 15 minutes every hour of self promotion to watch a show they have repeatedly shown several times in the last month?

Is this quality use of tax payers coin?

No it's terrible, the ABC needs to lift it's game or have funds withdraw to be spent on better quality national entrainment sources.

I must say I am more than happy with ABC Radio. Perhaps promote some of those into television, they couldn't do any worse!

You don't have to.  You're free to get up or change the Chanel. Why shouldn't abc promote it's services.  They'd be crazy not to. Every business promotes itself. 
As for watching repeats, you can't have it all. You can't complain about the cost of the abc and demand budget cuts, and then complain when those cuts lead to production cuts.

Lets go back to the Good Ol' Days, hey when they used to put on displays of woodturning, pasta making, and of course, turning out dishes and bowls?  Times have changed, thankfully.  Go to the loo if your that concerned at having your brain awakened to what might be on, on Sunday night.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
