Israel/Hamas

Yep, Hamas attacked on October 7.  Yes, Israel has very right to defend itself.  It has every right to defeat its enemies.

But......

Having achieved that defeat, it does not have the right to then go on and slaughter the militarily defeated.

The similarity between Nazis slaughtering helpless Jews and Jews in Israel slaughtering helpless Hamas cannot be ignored.

A bit like the Warsaw Ghetto.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Ghetto

The Warsaw Ghetto (German: Warschauer Ghetto, officially Jüdischer Wohnbezirk in Warschau, "Jewish Residential District in Warsaw"; Polish: getto warszawskie) was the largest of the Nazi ghettos during World War II and the Holocaust. It was established in November 1940 by the German authorities within the new General Government territory of occupied Poland. At its height, as many as 460,000 Jews were imprisoned there,[5] in an area of 3.4 km2 (1.3 sq mi), with an average of 9.2 persons per room.

The ghetto was almost entirely leveled during the Uprising;

however, a number of buildings and streets survived, mostly in the "small ghetto" area, which had been included into the Aryan part of the city in August 1942 and was not involved in the fighting.

It's genocide, pure & simple.

And the terrorist sympathisers on here defend it by using a childish argument:

"Yeah, well, Hamas does bad things too. And anyway, they started it".

How many dead babies and dead pregnant women in Gaza will make them happy?

My OP was not directly about dead pregnant women or dead babies (though they are both very terribly appalling and Israel has to accept 100% responsibility for that) it is about what you do with a clearly defeated way outnumbered and outgunned enemy.

You cannot keep using the 'defence' excuse when you are truly trying to wipe out a defeated militia while doing so cost the lives of so many innocents.

Yes, Hamas could toss up a white flag and they haven't, but that does not mean you satisfy your blood lust under a cloak of initial righteousness, close in and slaughter the last at Little Big Horn.  Sitting Bull got nowhere doing that.  The white tide kept coming, as will the Palestinian one.

If Israel has bombed the little place flat and after 7 months Hamas is re-grouping and fighting hard, then 'the tide' will keep coming. It's amazing that ammo comes in by tunnels from Egypt and can't be stopped.  The US has the space cameras and Israel has missiles and Egypt blocks what it can.

Totally unrealistic.  Just like there will always be Jews, Calathumpians, etc, there will always be Palastenians.

Just as there was no Israel, until the West created it.

But that is beside my OP point.

Is it okay to execute the few defeated who do not surrender, Little Big Horn like.

What will be achieved??

Jews were the first Middle East terrorists. Now Israel's a terrorist state.

Israel killed many UK military, police, and officials in the King David Hotel bombing and other acts of terrorism.

The first leaders of Israel were terrorists.

Israel murdered Yasser Arafat.

I keep hearing mutterings when some  talk about it within earshot “Just return the hostages!”
I queried “Do you really think any of them are alive?”
And I get answered that the bodies should be returned.

As much as I intensely dislike the way many innocents in Gaza are killed because of Hamas for the act of of wanting hostages returned…and I’ve outwardly spoken against it and felt orders for Israel army were OTT
I actually thought how about that… how Israel’s PM has shown how he’s for his people…
What would our PM do for any of us? Or our families if some of us were captured as hostages?
SFA me thinks.

Hamas broke ceasefire from previous war on Oct 7th.
How many wars has Hamas started with Israel?

They haven't achieved their goals yet a bit premature to say Hamas has been defeated.

There is no similarity between Nazis and Israel.

Listen to Palestinians talk about this conflict and see if you can figure out what motivates them. Is this what leftists support?

The Israelis don't need a list. Their ultimate objective is to end Gaza, whether they incidentally wipe out Hamas in Gaza or not.

Israel believes so.  I say that once you have defeated your enemy, you stop the War.  You do not go on and on and on and on, and while doing so, slaughter not only the already defeated, but civilians and then try to excuse it on the basis of "We will defend ourselves."

There was a Japanese soldier left on some Island who never surrendered in WW2.  That did not mean the US had to drop a third bomb on Japan.

To date, no Sunni Muslim state has intervened against Israel's progress towards ending Gaza.

Notably, Iran - the Shia Muslim sponsor of the Sunni Hamas - has not risked war with Israel over its progress towards ending Gaza.

No Muslim state in the region, Sunni or Shia, has offered refuge or asylum to Gazan Palestinians and, I'd bet, neither would the Palestinian West Bank if they were able to.

Israel's progress towards ending Gaza is covertly supported by every Sunni regime in the region.

Iran's goal in the region is not to drive Israel into the sea, but to prevent the progress of the Abraham Accords to include the likes of Sunni Saudi Arabia (and possibly Iraq after a civil war between Iraqi Sunni and Shia) which would guarantee Sunni regional hegemony over the Shia in the region.

MeisterEckhart is badly misinformed and has turned fantasies into beliefs and facts.

Iraq's Sunnis were defeated by the USA and banished from participation in Iraqi governance.

Shia are a majority in Iraq and are in power.

Quote:
The history of Islam in Iraq goes back almost 1,400 years to the lifetime of Muhammad (died in 632). Iraq's 98% majority Muslims follow two distinct traditions: Shia Islam (55-60%) and Sunni Islam (35-40%).

The Israeli army cares about the current leadership, because they are the ones directing the attacks against Israel. If Mossad was able to fix the problem for them, it would not still be a problem.

Do you know whether Hamas has surrendered Aussie?

Do you know whether they have returned the hostages?

I realise these might sound like stupid questions, but I ask because you keep saying such stupid things. And yes, you are very confused. As well as completely lacking in morals. A person such as yourself who is prepared to kill 100 million Jews in order to "solve" the problem will never be taken seriously when he tries to tell Israel what they need or do not need.

The Israeli Army is the tool of Netanyahu.  He is using the very excuses you are to justify continuing a War he has already won.  Eckhart may well be right...his blood lust will not be satisfied until there is no Gaza.  I am trying to think what that reminds me of, in my 'confused' state.

According to Hamas itself, about 35,000 Palestinians have been killed by the IDF since October.  That is 5,000 a MONTH. It would take 400 months or 33 years to kill all 2 million of them all IF they stopped having kids. But the population growth in Gaza is 2.7 % per year (2022 est). Of a population of 2.2 million, that is about 60,000 a year or ....er.....5,000 a MONTH.

If Israel really wanted to wipe out all the Gazans, would they be really doing it at the rate Gazans are replacing themselves? Really??

"Genocide" is an idiotic, deliberate hyperbole. There are roughly as many Palestinians in Gaza now as  before October 2023.

Israel's objective in ending Gaza is not to kill all Gazan Palestinians but to displace them all, to permanently end the territory as a launching pad for future attacks on Israel.

Get your calculator out Mr Ed.

Yes, Arssie, do get your calculator. The one eyed trouser snake you are holding firmly ain't one ....

Gaza population in 2023 - 2.2 million

Birth rate= 27.67per 1,000 population. That is 2.767 per 100, or 2.767%.

2.767 % of 2.2 million =  60,874 annual births in Gaza. That is a touch above 5,000 per month.

No wonder you are a taxi driver pretending to be a failed lawyer, Arrssie.

What an absurd and artificial argument and obviously maths is not your strong point.

No wonder you are the Uni's Janitor as you have finally seen how incorrect your initial figures were.  You've moved the goalposts/changed the figures.

Grin Grin Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

What are YOUR figures and YOUR goal posts, Arrse?

Do tell us. Go on. Lawyer-like. Sophisticated, intelligent, pertinent. Can you still do it, as a taxi driver?

Go on, Arrse, give us your calculations.

No.  Absurd.

Do you admit to being a half smart arse cock head who constantly seeks to misrepresent what people have actually said?

And by the way, moron, there are not 100 million Jews in Israel,

How about 10 million dead Jews. Would you be comfortable with that Aussie?

A major advantage in Israel's favour as it continues its progress towards ending Gaza, is that all Sunni Muslim regimes are highly invested in disrupting and destroying Islamist movements in the region.

Maybe ISIS made them realise they are a bad idea. They wanted to prioritise killing the 'hypocrites' before the Jews.

No, but that would have been their decision, not mine.  And, it's 7 million in Israel.

It happened before ISIS - the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, for example, and Al Qaeda in Saudi Arabia. Even the Saudis allowed non-Muslim US troops into the country to prosecute the war against Al Qaeda.

There'll be a Sunni bullet with Hezbollah's name on it, I'd bet.

What do you mean by that Aussie? Why is it "their decision" whether you feel comfortable with killing 10 million Jews? And who are "they"?
