Ukraine's population - 42 million before the full-scale invasion in February 2022 - has already shrunk to below 36 million, including several million in areas captured by Russia, according to the demography institute at Ukraine's National Academy of Sciences.
It estimates the figure will drop to 25 million by 2051.
The collapse is gathering pace.
The country has both the highest death rates and lowest birth rates in the world, according to 2024 estimates in the CIA World Factbook: for every birth there are around three deaths.

...

The 2001 census was the most recent, and the only census conducted in independent Ukraine to date.
The next census was to have been held ten years later, in 2011 (censuses should be conducted every ten years, according to standards set by the United Nations). However, the next census has been regularly delayed and a date for a new census has not been set.

Putin's nukes will re-heat the frozen assets, stabilise the mobile population and reduce Russia's nuke threat by the number of fired missiles.

Did Russia ever take Ukraine to the United Nations over land claims?
That's what you'd think would happen but it didn't.
Russia is one of 5 permanent members of the UN security council
so the matter should have been raised.
Putin just threw all international laws away and invaded Ukraine.
Russia should be kicked out of the UN.
Why is it still there?

The case of Ukraine is showing that the UN is pointless.
The 5 permanent members should be leading the way
by enforcing law and order – solving problems by talk instead of war.
Russia might as well have said that -
'we don't care about the UN – we'll just take whatever we want by force'

erm....
Russia is one of the 5 permanent Security Council of UN.  The UN was organised to create the Russian Empire and defend it against the enemies of Slav Glory.

It's crazy -
we have one permanent member, China giving a
"no-limits friendship” with Russia – to fight Ukraine,
and we have 3 permanent members: USA, UK and France
supporting Ukraine against the permanent member Russia.
So now the 5 permanent members of the UN are fighting each other in
the largest war since WW2.
The UN has become a farce.

Russia took Ukraine to the UNSC over murdering civilians including children in Donbas but the motion was blocked by WOKE members.

Anyway the reform of UNSC is coming

It's a Clayton's war

Putin has them all over a barrel -

the sanctions are bullshit:

The United States continues to import low-enriched uranium from Russia, which is a key feedstock for producing nuclear reactor fuel. This trade takes place despite mutual restrictions: a US import embargo (in force since May 2024) and a Russian export ban (since November 2024). It remains possible due to one-off permits issued by both sides.

From Russia’s perspective, the lack of actual enforcement of the embargo on supplies to the US underscores the importance of Rosatom and its subsidiaries. Since 2022, the Russian authorities have refrained from using uranium deliveries as a political instrument and have allowed continued cooperation even with countries deemed hostile by the Kremlin – with the United States being the prime example. This suggests that, for Moscow, maintaining Rosatom’s standing in a key market and preserving its reputation as a reliable supplier are of critical value, as they facilitate operations in other countries. This is particularly significant in the context of bidding for contracts to construct nuclear power plants abroad – projects that create long-term ties between the host country and Russian state-owned companies, thereby deepening multidimensional dependency on Russia.

As I said there has been practical reason based on realism of real politic for that.

The 'practical reasons' based on 'realism' amount to might is right , unless you can show otherwise.

But real might is really right.

Your error: might doesn't concern itself with universal rights (eg as outlined in the UNUDHR); and being self-interested, is indifferent to justice.
I note you are barracking for Putin - who would collapse if faced with the might  of a united NATO.

Difference between you and I is that I am realist and look at real facts in the real world....

ie right is might.

Evil.

No,  the way it can be.

As envisioned by the delegates from the smaller nations present at the founding of the UN, overruled by the evil might is right anachronism, in the age of MAD no less.

Are humans evil?

Well - a war to the last Ukrainian; with US and EU soldiers not involved.

While Trump is happy to sell arms to the EU, and Russia is keen to sell nuclear plant technology to India, as you noted.

Morality?

It's all BS.

Putin himself point it out at 0:42  here:

0:43
As for India's purchases or purchase of
0:46
energy resources from Russia, well, I
0:49
would like to note and have already
0:51
mentioned this publicly once. The United
0:54
States itself still buys nuclear fuel
0:57
from us for its own nuclear power
0:59
plants.
1:02
That is also fuel, uranium for the
1:04
reactors operating in the United States.
1:08
If the US has the right to buy our fuel,
1:11
why shouldn't India have the same
