Two things stop me from ever going to Australia
1. No legal weed
2. Blooby lives there.
Queensland has just had a state election conclude the other day. The Liberal-National political party has romped home, winning with a good majority government. One of the minor political parties that 'competed' in the state election was the "Legalise Cannabis" party.
I managed to put that political party last on my ballot paper. I numbered Rockhampton's candidate "Mick Jones" 7 out of the 7 candidates. If you vote the "Legalise Cannabis" party any higher than 5 on the ballot preferences, you are basically doing what is known as a "protest vote".
Cannabis has been legal since the time that I went through high school. The only condition for pot smokers is to just stand well away from the entrances of food stores and any place where they have air conditioning. Generally, don't smoke pot indoors to any supermarkets.
If a police officer sees you smoking pot in public, they only cite you if you are walking into an enclosed area smoking a joint. Otherwise, the police don't give a damn.
Don't worry about "Blooby". Bobby happens to be the person who reinforced my knowledge that "weed" is technically legal in Australia.
Mick Jones was a pot head in university. But, even he does not believe that we should push the narrative of legalising something that is already legal. Mr Jones is just trying to get some publicity as a candidate for a future employment as mayor.
I would vote for Mick Jones to become mayor. He knows enough about politics to actually clean up a town of alcoholics.
