Paranoia is not due to 'legalities'.
Many nations and societies now and in history have looked down upon such use of 'narcotics' for 'flippant' uses as bad and in the negative basket.
Paranoia stems from the Weed directly as it breaks down the mind's boundaries into the 'vulnerable' zone and any 'contact' with other people not of like mind, results in the pot-head's mind not being able to keep up, be in control and relate equally. This is not the effect of some 'legality' - this is the effect of the Weed.

Got a bullet to remove from your body? Sure, even I would make you smoke a joint. It has a 'hole' to fill and what it was designed for.
Take the pot when nothing is wrong with you only creates a 'lump' for you to 'trip' over and the constant 'fall down' effect is where the paranoia comes from.
Don't blame 'others' other than your 'Dealer'.

I mean, dare we say that Pot Smokers 'do get paranoid' and suddenly fall down from an invisible hit and cry assault?

A paranoia when using pot is due to its illegality.

pot smoking is not linked to mental or physical abusive behaviour.
Nor falling down due to an invisible hit.

Alcohol is strongly linked to mental and physical abusive behaviour.
