Your generation are so far in front in the welfare bludging stakes it's not funny.
Boomers were doers - your lot are leaners.
Especially you. You wouldn't work up a sweat in a pressure cooker.
You are a baby boomer. I am generation X. Your generation had it easy growing up, and could walk into a full time job upon completion of high school -- some of you whom did not even bother with the last 2 years of high school. My generation had to basically complete high school, get a casual or part-time job and then work their way into a full-time job. It would not surprise me if there are a large proportion of people my age or younger that have to work a couple part-time jobs just to get through the high cost of living.
I remember talking to my boss about the attitude of various generation when it comes to work. Teens these days don't know what a hard day of work is like. Boomers bitch and whinge about younger people not knowing enough to survive, whilst boomers had things handed to them on a silver platter in their own youth and could buy a house for the cost of $2000 and a bag of rice. Gen Xers identify more with our grandparents, given that we had to be the first generation that had to come home to an empty house after school, organise ourselves and have the evening meals started before Mum and Dad came home from work.
I think I would rather finish high school, walk into a job, and pay off a mortgage, and have the next 50 years to have a family and a life, instead of having to compete for the next grocery stacking job that pops up.
