Bishop Mari Emmanuel was preaching at Christ The Good Shepherd Church in Wakeley in Sydney's west on Monday just after 7pm when an attacker walked up to the altar and allegedly stabbed him multiple times.

Horrifying footage of the incident, which was being broadcast live on the church's YouTube page, shows Bishop Emmanuel look up in astonishment as the attacker suddenly rains down blows on his face and head.

Horrified screams can be heard as other worshippers rush to the bishop's aid as he falls to the floor.

Early reports suggest at least two others were also allegedly stabbed in the ensuing tussle.

It comes just 48 hours after six people were murdered in Westfield Bondi Junction by a crazed knifeman.

Joel Cauchi, 40, stabbed five women and a male security guard to death and injured several others before he was gunned down by a police officer.

Daily Mail Australia has approached NSW Police for comment.

We now know the terrorist involved was charged by NSW Police and found guilty of a knife crime just three months ago. He was let off on a good behaviour bond in January. He was known to police but was allowed to attack again.

But Labor appears just as compromised. Labor has been trying to avoid offending Muslim voters and forcing an exodus to the Greens or independents. In doing this, however, it has offended the Jewish community and the rest of us who value democracy and the rule of law.

Meanwhile, in the background, Foreign Minister Penny Wong effectively has endorsed Hamas propaganda, calling for a ceasefire and advocating Palestinian statehood with little thought to the reality on the ground in the Middle East.

Yes, looks that way Bobby.

Islamic terrorism is relatively rare in western countries - compared to right-wing/white supremacist/ultra-nationalist terrorism - but it does happen.

Moreover, it should be condemned just as we all (well, some of us) condemn people like those who murdered 51 people in Christchurch.

Good and bad in every group, unfortunately.

So stabbing a bishop while allahu akhbaring - is that far right or far left?

Clearly a case of Islamist terrorism, and I condemn it unconditionally.

It falls into a category of its own.

It's far right, but it would be unfair to all the Nazis to be lumped in with the Muslims, they they created a whole separate category just for Islam. Greg seems to think this paints Islam in a better light.

A wave of misinformation flooded the internet following Sydney's shopping centre massacre, prompting a plea to pause-and-think before posting.

Within hours of Saturday's deadly rampage at Westfield Bondi Junction, social media users uploaded distressing footage of the attack while others falsely claimed the carnage was a "false flag" event secretly orchestrated by shadowy figures.

He said it could also be comforting for some to believe disastrous events were planned instead of random.

"Telling a story about who's behind it and which powerful actors are really doing this ... that's more comforting than the thought that a random person can inflict that kind of carnage."

"There's something perversely calming about conspiracy explanations in that they do actually give us back the possibility of control."

A man, who says he prayed with the teenager who’s been charged with stabbing a bishop,
claims the boy had been “poisoned by a monster”.

Video footage from inside the church showed him telling bystanders Bishop Emmanuel had sworn at his prophet.

“If he didn’t swear at my prophet I wouldn’t be here.
If he didn’t involve himself in my religion I wouldn’t be here,” the boy said in Arabic.

Police Commissioner Karen Webb designated the incident “terror related”. An investigation is being led by the New South Wales Joint Counter Terrorism Team, whose members include the NSW Police, Australian Federal Police and ASIO.

The newspaper also reports that a man, who has not been identified, mentioned the 15-year-old in an audio message sent via WhatsApp in the hours after the attack.

“Sadly, sadly, sadly, that kid we prayed with today. These kids have been poisoned by a monster,” the man said in the audio message.

“This kid has been poisoned.”

He proceeded to identify the boy by name.

Yet the Islamic hate preachers of this country are not attacked by other religious devotees when they criticise all other religions and call for violent jihad against the infidels of the west. But they live in the West.

The Muslims have a propensity to attack/revert to violence when anyone publicly criticises Islam & Muhammad.
