The Good Guys don’t seem to sell them so dunno about getting a replacement bowl through them. Or is there a superior alternative? Anyone?

Troubles never show up alone, do they?

Came home yesterday afternoon, put purchases away, fed the mutt, made a coffee then logged onto the regular HB chat. Not a sign of anything wrong.

Later, wanted to clean up after dinner—no hot water. Have a look at HWS—water flowing out the top!

Got the local plumber and he turned off the power to the HWS (electric, no gas here) and then turned off the water on the service. Nearly $800 later I will have a new HWS. They are supposed to last 12 years—this one was 30 years old! Hey the house was a rental so just bodgy something up, eh?

No! I am used to gas HWS! But the plumber had a look at it. Now I know I need to replace it I will add it to the schedule.

In the meantime—want to make another batch of apple butter, incl a smaller jar to send to my younger sis—always use the slowcooker for it, easy and trouble free. Alas!
