Police release statement, confirm man shot
Police have just released this holding statement:

Saturday, 13 April 2024 04:36:50 PM

A critical incident has commenced following the shooting of male at Bondi Junction.

Just before 4pm (Saturday 13 April 2024), emergency services were called to Westfield Bondi Junction following reports of multiple people stabbed.

People are urged to avoid the area.

Inquiries are continuing in relation to the incident and there are no further details.

Police confirmed a man was shot and witnesses say a mother and baby are among the stabbing victims
There are reports of up to six people dead in a stabbing spree at Bondi Junction shopping centre on Saturday afternoon.

“Many more” are in a critical condition, a police source not authorised to speak publicly said.

Police have shot a male offender; it is unclear if the shot was fatal.

When I finished work and read the news I just felt dread. Wife said she didn't go as she was too tired.
