How come Subject Bruce now is supposed to reveal the terms of a settlement from another case?  Wasn't that confidential?  If it's so relevant let the court adjudicate in camera as to whether or not it has any place in THIS case.

It's not true that Lehrmann and Higgins are nominated for a Soapie award for longest running parliamentary debate. As the PM noted, having a member in a ministerial office doesn't mean it gets up.

"Meanwhile, in his own affidavits filed to the Federal Court, Mr Auerbach said Spotlight staff were directed to "avoid an obvious of trail communication" with Mr Lehrmann.

He claimed he was following the lead of executive producer Mark Llewellyn in deleting relevant material in the days prior to the Spotlight episode airing.

"He said to me, 'I've just gotten off the phone to lawyers. I've decided to wipe all contact that I've had with Bruce and documents he gave me. I cannot tell you to do the same but it might be a good idea.'"

Mr Auerbach's affidavit also claimed he received a phone call from Seven's external lawyers after the episode aired which instructed him to "have a look at everything, especially the raw interview tapes".

"I understood that this meant that I should delete any materials that could be damaging for Seven," Mr Auerbach said in his affidavit.

"I followed this direction and permanently deleted anything that I could find on my computer and phone at the time."

Mr Auerbach is expected to be called to the witness box this afternoon."

And here the lies begin again - Bruce bought the cocaine (probably bRought it if he did - do cocaine dealers accept credit cards?  JaSin - you'd know that.....) and he didn't pay for the sex workers....

Not saying Bruce didn't do any of this - but any lawyer worth his salt could rip this to shreds long before it even got in the door.
