A hunting drone is equipped with a firearm so the drone operator is still using a gun of some kind.
Hunting drones are as susceptible to a charge of shot or a well aimed bullet as any similar flying machine.
See Google for a wealth of information on shooting drones.
There are even videos on the topic.

Self defence is a right.

Homo sapiens is however using un armed drones to spot game, hopefully most countries will ban the practice.
