Having installed a third rate mishmash of obsolete/obsolescent network crap NBN Co is preparing for AI, oh yes sirree!

What bullshit! NBN Co has to be running scared with Starlink stealing bulk business from them and they know most of the “network” just isn’t ready for a big bump up in traffic.

I suggest a couple of strategies to get much more FTTH installed at almost no cost to poor pathetic NBN Co:

1. Scrap the name “technology choice” (how meaningless that is!) and reinstate “Fibre on Demand” and boost this hugely:

1.1. Don’t charge for what are no more than indicative quotes

1.2. Quote REALISTIC prices for dragging fibre (FTTH) to where someone wants to pay for that

1.3. Most importantly—let people with properties on the route of the FoD pay to join that rollout!

More real quotes, more people wanting to share in the cost of Fibre on Demand! Not rocket science!

Do the same with Area Choice—let councils convince their ratepayers to join a wider area Fibre On Demand scheme.


2. Scrap the STUPID and PATHETIC little anemic speed bands!

EVERY

FTTH connection has symmetrical 1Gbps bandwidth! FTTH can deliver this, drop the IDIOTIC Liberal Party mandated slow speeds! FFS, politics kneecapping important infrastructure???

2.1. With a REAL network there is so much that can be done!

2.11. Education—scarce resources like guest teachers/experts can talk to several schools or businesses at once, answer questions etc etc

2.12. Business—end the half minute wait when a credit/debit card is scanned by an EFTPOS machine. I know where FTTH is, cards are scanned and the receipt printed in a couple of seconds v half a minute wait on some Lib bodgy network crap! Not good when there is a big queue at the supermarket checkout! Not good when you are getting facts and data for your impatient boss!

2.1.3. Business to business—a real network allows Zoom type meetings but with real detailed video—be like being actually with the person you are talking to!


Etc. I doubt NBN Co can keep going much longer. It cannot do what is needed in this day and age, has still a HUGE job replacing all the obsolete crap like FTTN, FTTC etc etc. The Libs have ONCE AGAIN throttled Australia’s growth. Starlink satellite is a tad expensive at $139/month but does deliver 200:20 right the flip now!

Starlink is not enough, FTTH to 95% of homes is needed NOW! How to deliver?

Easy! Sell the NBN Co to the Future Fund. Fund pays the $30Bn the Lib govt  “loaned” to NBN Co when the sad shemozzle tried to find a lender on the market—this failure showed the Libs STUFFED UP a huge opportunity for the  nation!

Govt gets the glory of a $30Bn boost to the Budget!

FF has to rationally develop the NBN—95% FTTH with 1Gbps symmetrical!

THEN watch how the nation will grow!
