Poor old Booby, still full of resentment that I already knew about the Roaring 40s and wasn’t affected directly by them, not being on the west coast, posts some in fo about them.

Of course, in all the reading I have done throughout my life, not just at school and Uni, I knew about them.

Booby’s article says the west coast is hit by them and all of Tasmania is influenced by them. Fine.

Just to bring it really home to the retard goto this site and just see how bloody high the central highlands really are!

Centre and west of Tasmania are HIGHLANDS so I do NOT get the Roaring 40s. Melbourne does—no wonder it has “four seasons in one day!) But Booby just wants to troll and troll (and worse.) Again the lying, stealing, blackmailing doxxer asserts I live at 43°S. I am MUCH closer to 41°S.

Tasmania is about the size of CQ. Whilst you have the tablelands to shelter your region, the fact would remain that the roaring 40s would do something to affect you no matter where you live. Here in CQ, we get cold weather during wind coming from the south or southwest. If the wind speed is above 10kmh coming from inland, it is bitterly cold (even if the temperatures are not too low). I do know that if I go to the beach on a winter's night, it is pretty cold (even for the shelter of the Berserker Ranges. And you can feel the temperature drop when driving back to town driving pass the Ranges.

Normally, any place south of the Gold Coast would get winter conditions a month earlier than I experienced. I probably turn the hot water system by mid-March (April at latest). Judging by the news about the weather events of southern winters, I would find it odd that the "roaring 40s" are not a factor for everyone from Tasmania to southern NSW latitudes.

Yes, the roaring 40s would influence weather over Tassy—but we don’t experience them directly. Booby is just pissed I knew the weather in Tassie, West Coast v East Coast. Clown must have known I had been travelling to Tassie regularly from 2016 on! He just HAS to be superior and he really isn’t.

My point was that even though my region is closer to the Equator than the Arctic Circle, those cold winds from the south during the winter is quite chilling. No amount of mountain ranges will shelter us from a cold breeze coming from the south. In fact, the air coming off the mountains would likely make it a few degrees colder than the air that makes its way through the valley. In the summertime during hot weather, the westerly breeze is mitigated by the mountain ranges that keep the hot days slightly cooler.

And for a place 2500+km south of where I live, the winters (I suppose May to September for you) would mean the breeze coming off the tablelands of Tasmania to make things around freezing for you, in addition to the wind speed intensifying the freezing conditions. A sheltered place like Hobart was having a 9.4°C minimum temperature in February. And that accounts for the NWesterly breeze. We Rockhamptonites have not seen a day under 20°C since November -- which got down to 16°C. August was the last time the minimum got to single digits. The lowest temperature being 6°C.

I know that you don't want to give out your location. But you live on a coastal township. A few of those winters last year were below zero temperatures.

But even Bobby is living winter-like temperatures in February. 9°C on the 7th of this month. Not like there are no dogs that cannot handle the winter temperatures in Melbourne... even in February.
