You'd think after a 2 month ban you'd

A ban from here is a badge of honor. . .

. . .and they never tell you what the ban was for.

Monk needs another lengthy ban. Everything happens in 3's.

My ultimate motor bike was a Yamaha 200cc 2stroke.

Did a few Km at 80mph, bit of a rush.

Sold that to a friend, told him to do the two bits of maintenance: tighten the nuts on the front fork then tighten the chain and make sure the rear wheel was straight. He didn’t do the maintenance, chain jumped a sprocket and he seized the engine. Acted like I sold him a faulty bike—it was the new rider was faulty.

The Yammy was my ultimate bike in two ways: my biggest bike and my last bike.

The bike I liked best was my 100cc Yamaha. Nice little buzzbox. No problems with it, good in town, adequate in the country.

Ok that’s interesting but I can’t see any pictures?

Google AI:

Elvis Presley was a passionate motorcycle rider who owned and frequently rode many different motorcycles throughout his life, including Harley-Davidsons, Triumphs, and Hondas. His interest began in the mid-1950s and provided him with a sense of freedom and escape from his celebrity life.

Early Years: He bought his first motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson 165 ST, in 1955 with part of his first record deal bonus.
Triumphs: His love for Triumphs started in 1965, when he took a friend's Triumph for a ride and was so impressed that he had seven Triumphs delivered to his home that same night for his friends and himself to ride together.

Harley-Davidsons: He also famously rode Harley-Davidsons, including the Electra-Glide, and purchased several for himself and his "Memphis Mafia". He bought a Harley-Davidson for his friends again in 1976.

Other Motorcycles: He also owned other bikes, such as Honda Dream models that he and Priscilla would ride together, though this rarely happened. Later in life, he also developed a fondness for custom three-wheeled tricycles.

Freedom and Escape: For Elvis, motorcycles represented freedom and an escape from his life in the spotlight. He would ride through Memphis to enjoy moments of simple pleasure away from the cameras.

Same as the bike I used to ride -
now being restored for US$23,000 or more -
costing more than a new bike:

Apr 30, 2026

While in the San Diego area for a motorcycle race we got a tip on where some of the world’s finest Kawasaki two triples reside and we grab our friend, motorcycle restoration expert and Mecum world record holder Nori Miyata and head to Steve Garraffa’s garage where we check out his amazing collection, featuring his mint 1972 Kawasaki H2 750 “Widowmaker.” We get a full tour of Steve’s shop and we get some insight on effective motorcycle restoration is really done, along with some tips. We head into Steve’s living room where we find more motorcycles, including another H2 750, a pair of Kawasaki H1 500s, a Honda Scrambler and other cool bikes. We meet Steve’s lovely wife who supports his hobby and lets him keep bikes in the garage and we get a tour of his polishing corner and his new products he developed for Kawasaki Two Strokes. Enjoy these rare motorcycle finds from San Marcos, Ca.

That reminds me of the cost of restoring older motorbikes.
The H2 750 I had above - Reply #184 -
was the first rebuild before I was considering a full restoration.
I actually got stock pipes for it in perfect condition and fitted them
after that picture.

I later sold it as I realised it would cost a fortune to fully restore it
and I didn't have any spare money at that stage in my life.
The bikes discussed on Reply #192 show what I mean.

They cost more than a brand new bike to restore so
unless you just want one or it's going to be profitable to sell it -
then it's not worth it.

I once considered a business idea to restore motorbikes
but came to the conclusion that I would lose money doing it.
I know of many people who restored a bike and years later sold it at a loss.
The business model usually only works if people pay you to restore their bikes -
that way you can quote them and build in a profit margin.
