Merry Christmas. Has there ever been a more charged phrase in the English language? Try getting in the Christmas spirit by showing goodwill toward your fellow man with politically correct language that isn't quite so offensive.

Here are some approved alternative phrases:

1. Happy holidays: This one's obvious, but it's a classic for a reason. Are you talking about Kwanzaa? Diwali? Toyotathon? They'll never know.

2. Greetings, fellow human-presenting individual. I hope you are having a satisfactory time this arbitrarily festive period when our hemisphere tilts away from the sun: This is what the holidays are really all about.

3. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free: It's an aspirational call for freedom and human rights.

4. Black lives matter: Always appropriate.

5. Mmmbop, ba duba dop, ba du bop, ba duba dop, ba du bop, ba duba dop, ba du, oooh yee-aaaah: Inoffensive and meaningless, like all good holiday greetings.

6. Human detected. Initiate appropriate holiday greeting protocol: Might seem a little robotic, but it's important to keep things professional.

7. Did you know Christmas has pagan origins in Saturnalia?: The cashier at Popeye's will really appreciate your taking this opportunity to educate him.

8. Hail Satan! Hail Satan!: Much more acceptable than offensive slurs like "Merry Christmas" in today's politically charged climate.

9. I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion... I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain... Time to die.: Wow. So true.

10. It's holidayin' time!: It sure is.

While I have not reconciled with the niece I really wanted reconciliation with I did succeed with her older sister.

I don't disagree. Humanity has fully succeeded in its efforts to infect everything possible. Why even the birth of the Holy Son of God has been sullied by paganism and commercialism. Despite this... some of us (admittedly not many)...STILL CHOOSE to observe the event of Jesus' birth because we have (somehow) kept our FAITH.

It's somewhat difficult NOT to mention the word RELATIONSHIP in this topic. That's because the reality is that for some of us ...Jesus is someone REAL and IMPORTANT. We have a personal RELATIONSHIP with Him.

I totally accept that for some people...the concept of a relationship with Jesus is something which just cannot be understood. Why my own husband is one such person. Our spiritual journeys are different. That doesn't mean I am better or more worthy of Heaven than my husband. It's only by GRACE we can all call on Jesus to rescue us from the HELL we've created and now find ourselves in.

Make no mistake ... our very lives are defined by violence.

When Jesus was born (some 2023 years ago) a certain Roman (called Herod the Great) marked the occasion and defined the moment by his particular brand of violence. He ordered the execution of every male baby under the age of 2 yrs of age in the vicinity of Bethlehem.

Not much has changed since then. Has it?

I don't disagree. Humanity has fully succeeded in its efforts to infect everything possible. Why even the birth of the Holy Son of God has been sullied by paganism and commercialism. Despite this... some of us (admittedly not many)...STILL CHOOSE to observe the event of Jesus' birth because we have (somehow) kept our FAITH.

It's somewhat difficult NOT to mention the word RELATIONSHIP in this topic. That's because the reality is that for some of us ...Jesus is someone REAL and IMPORTANT. We have a personal RELATIONSHIP with Him.

I totally accept that for some people...the concept of a relationship with Jesus is something which just cannot be understood. Why my own husband is one such person. Our spiritual journeys are different. That doesn't mean I am better or more worthy of Heaven than my husband. It's only by GRACE we can all call on Jesus to rescue us from the HELL we've created and now find ourselves in.

Make no mistake ... our very lives are defined by violence.

When Jesus was born (some 2023 years ago) a certain Roman (called Herod the Great) marked the occasion and defined the moment by his particular brand of violence. He ordered the execution of every male baby under the age of 2 yrs of age in the vicinity of Bethlehem.

Not much has changed since then. Has it?

Particularly in that region of the world where babies and children continue to suffer/die under such horrible and violent circumstances.

Anyway... have a lovely evening everyone. Try not to be (too) violent with each other.
