Virgin cruises.

Interesting cruises…

Adults only.

Son and his wife are going with couple friends for a 3 day cruise from Melbourne to Hobart.

I will let you know once they give me a review.
Then I wouldn’t mind booking a cruise next year. At least some of the cruises leave from Melbourne!
Rather than Sydney, which is a saving for car parking, plane fare, etc

Sounds more like a local Ferry Sophia?
Not even enough nights onboard to 'swing' from bar to bar.
Cheesy

I have looked at their fares Sophia, they are pretty reasonable compared to the other cruises from Melbourne.  The Ship itself looks like a veritable "party boat" so not too sure how us more Senior in years would go.  For the price though, the trip to Tassie is well worth it.    Very interested to read your "review" !

If they take cars, etc - I know how I'll be moving to New Zealand. Smiley

I looked up about the cruise… first night they have a pyjama party!
Just spoke to son on phone and told him… he didn’t know… and wants to know what to wear … I said just boxers shorts and fluffy slippers!  Grin
Or I could lend him dear dad’s old woollen checkered dressing gown and ugh boots  Grin

I just bought St Elmo’s pj set with matching slippers… was tossing up between Cookie Monster and St Elmo  Grin

I asked son to check out oldies our age if many are there, as I was reading average age of cruisers on that ship are basically in their 40s (mid life crisis age  Grin )
He says ….but you and dad aren’t oldies … more like in the early 50s.
Aaawww isn’t that sweet  Smiley

He will send pics and reviews from tomorrow once on board…how exciting!

Yeah I said floating Petri dish…. hence they have a balcony room so not locked up in an inside cabin with no fresh air.

And they’re off… sail away happened 6 pm (Melb daylight time)
Son says ship is cool… and it’s easy to get lost in it.
He sent me photos and it looks so clean, modern and new!
He went into Windjamner…(a comedian on board a cruise we were on once said…more like food jammer!) Grin

His last vid was everyone dancing on deck as ship is sailing away!
Many are wearing red!
Of course Virgin colours are mainly red!

I asked, any elderly? He says ages all over the place from 18 to over 70.

Anyway, weather was sunny and perfect in Melbourne!

I need to find our passports! I can’t recall where I placed them after our last trip in Singapore in 2019!  Angry  Roll Eyes

Okay! Now for an in-depth honest review son just sent me 4 different text.

So far this ship is not even half as good as the one we all went on together.
Is small and tight.
Slow and difficult to get any food
Will never get back on this boat

The ship he’s referring to was the one we went to SE Asia with from Singapore.
Umm… I’m not home so when I get back… I will look up my fridge magnets which ship is being compared to Virgin.
(Back again: it was Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas cruise ship. We had such awesome staterooms!)

I just spoke to daughter what her brother said about this Virgin cruise… she said he sent her a video of clubbing scene and she thought it looked ‘skanky’ and seems Virgin are more for the AO younger nightclub scene.
‘Difficult and slow to get any food’ is the deal breaker IMO

You would leave a 'born again' Virgin.

Don't worry Bad Boy Bubby Bobby.
You can take Monk onboard as your 'Emotional Support Dog',
so you don't miss out.
If he barks too loud - you can always use the Gladwrap. Wink
