He's just another of the many
COVID denialists, and can safely be ignored.
What qualifies you to call it?
Readings from tea leaves?
It's a feature of early boomers - now that they're old - to revert to their parent's mindset - believing authority without question.
Ironic, given they began their early adulthood not trusting anyone over 30.
Boomers were probably the first atheist generation
It's fine to be an atheist when you are young and healthy
Unfortunately for the boomers they are now old and fat
And fast approaching their demise
Death anxiety is rampant amongst the boomer generation
They have spent their life pleasuring themselves
In a fairly selfish way
They realise they have little in the way of legacy
And find it hard to accept that they will soon disappear into nothingness
They should have worked on reducing the size of their ego
By reducing the size of their self obsession and there attachment to pleasures
They did none of these things and now they are paying the price
It's true that (particularly early Boomers) are candidates for being the most self-absorbed generation that has ever existed - certainly the most self-absorbed in the modern era,
But they didn't 'start the fire' of their self-absorption - that was inadvertently done to them by their parents and grandparents.
Having endured two world wars and a serious world economic depression, by 1945, pre-Boomers were done with suffering and determined that their children would live in a utopia.
Low unemployment, a world awash with easy money and explosions in technology, gave to the early Boomers of Western Europe and the Anglosphere, lives of comfort unparalleled in human history - even beyond that which aristocrats would have enjoyed.
But utopias are unsustainable due to the innate human need to be existentially challenged by circumstance - so the utopian lifestyle has brought with it a plague of crushing generalised anxiety - angst - and terrifying existential questions such as, 'What is the point of existence at all?'
