El Niño and The Weather in Your State
Dec 11th, 2023 at 3:46am

Australia is particularly prone to weather "whiplash"
because the continent is buffeted by climate drivers to
our north, south, east and west. The dominant driver
in your state may be one of the lesser-known influences.

During the current El Niño phase, sea surface temperatures
near South America are warmer than normal and they're
cooler than normal off the coast of eastern Australia.
Additionally, trade winds that blow from east to west across
the Pacific are weaker.

To clarify this, we have:

Western climate driver = http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/about/?bookmark=iod

Northern climate driver = http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/about/?bookmark=mjo

Southern climate driver = http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/about/?bookmark=sam

This graph shows the predicted rainfall anomaly for summer:

     ...

I live in that tiny little purple region in South Gippsland.

The Bureau of Meteorology releases an update on all of
these drivers every two weeks. The update explains which
drivers are currently active and the forecast for the next
few weeks.

Excerpted from ABC News, 10 December 2023.

All that wonderful rainfall of fresh water - all wasted and washed out to sea quite quickly.
This is why this continent is the driest (inhabited) in the world - there is good rainfall, but no 'retention' of any real quality and durability.

AIMLESS EXTENTION OF KNOWLEDGE HOWEVER, WHICH IS WHAT I THINK YOU REALLY MEAN BY THE TERM 'CURIOSITY', IS MERELY INEFFICIENCY. I AM DESIGNED TO AVOID INEFFICIENCY.

And here is one from 2015 but it won't hot link.

What does it actually mean?
It is about an anomaly?
