A brilliant marketing strategy by Time Magazine.

If they had chosen Frank's hero - Putin - they would have sold a few hundred copies of the magazine to crusty old farts like him.

But by choosing TayTay, they're gonna sell millions and millions of copies to a whole new audience of teenage girls.

I don't like her music by the way - it's puerile crap, mostly written using variations of the I, V, vi, IV chord progression.

However, it seems like she's got a good head on her shoulders and, by getting millions of young people to register to vote, she's gonna have a huge influence on next year's presidential election.

And hey, she makes a lot of people happy so good luck to her.

(Seeing Frank triggered is just a bonus)

So Time magazine is applauded for being deceptive, manipulative and dishonest - being a slimey creepy turd - by a deceptive, manipulative and dishonest slimey creepy turd.

Quelle surprise!

So an adult with little talent brainwashes gullible schoolgirls to like her
and that warrants a reward from Time magazine?

Love the roses and Alison. Maybe because I knew an Alison and learned to play it. (not too well).

Alan Joyce with a guitar. How ridiculous.

Well, of course this doesn't personally affect me at all John.

But would you agree that it's yet another indicator that
our population—particularly the younger, future, scientists,
teachers, engineers, doctors, politicians etc—are being
dumbed down by this sort of media-led drivel?

In purely realistic terms, Taylor Swift has never offered
the world anything of credible value
—nothing that's
enhanced society overall, saved lives, stopped wars, cured
cancer, improved global air quality or water supplies etc.

And yes, I'm aware that she supports several charitable
causes
, but then she has an estimated worth of US$1.1 billion.
She can afford to simply as virtue signalling, with no actual
impact on her lifestyle at all.  But it makes her look good in
the eyes of her moronic fan base—who call themselves "Swifties".
   Puhleeze!

According to recent estimates published on CNN, Taylor's Eras
tour could gross $2.2 billion in just North American ticket sales
alone, which would make it the highest grossing tour in history.

She could take home an estimated US$500 million from this
single tour.

Has Adolph Hitler?

Hitler was Time's Man of the Year in 1938.

FFS, how many times do you people need to be told - Person of the Year is not an award for the BEST person of the year.

Time Magazine has indeed been dishonest Frank.
Good point.

Time Magazine is as honest as a Member promising to leave this Forum forever if Trump became President and Shorten failed to become Prime Minister.  Wink

What is it with you that you need to find something sinister in everything?
