I don't think we should be harsh on Taylor as an individual
In fact she is climbing the narrow road to success by pandering too the masses

The masses are addicted to sugary sweet visions of utopia
The masses are addicted to pleasuring themselves
The masses are addicted to getting out of any responsibility for the trajectory of their lives
The masses are sloppy soft marshmallowie spineless structureless blobs of entitlement

Taylor is merely providing the background music to these failures

She is cashing in on their failure
Not much different to McDonald's or KFC in reality and just as popular Wink

She arrived at the time when music was turned into disposable garbage -
she has no classics that anyone will still listen to in 50 years.
She portrays the lack of talent nowadays compared to the 1960s and 70s.

She portrays the lack of talent in multiple streams of the mainstream masses

There is something fairly mediocre about a McDonald's cheeseburger
It's certainly is not as appealing as your grandmother's roast beef with gravy and Yorkshire pudding

There is something fairly mediocre about Taylor swift music
In general to be successful with the mainstream masses it does not hurt to be mediocre because the mainstream masses are mediocre

Garbage is the norm Bobby
Never forget it
Failure is the default
If you don't struggle against it with all your might
Failure is virtually guaranteed

The majority of people have a job they do not like
Are either not in a relationship or are in a relationship with someone they do not like
The majority are overweight or obese
And the majority have less than $1,000 of savings in the bank

If you want to be a failure just copy what the majority are doing Grin Grin

hear hear sir Aqua,
you have a way of getting to the crux of the matter.
Notice that her audience consists mostly of young school girls?
What does that tell you about our education system?

Time magazine has named Taylor Swift as their Person of the
Year for 2023, bucking their tradition of recognising influential
political leaders and acknowledging the global superstar(?) as
a "source of light" in a "divided world."

The magazine's Person of the Year recognises an individual
"who most shaped the headlines over the previous 12 months,
for better or for worse".  (Which one is Swift?)

"In a divided world, where too many institutions are failing,
Taylor Swift found a way to transcend borders and be a source
of light," Time magazine editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs wrote.

(Presumably, Jacobs is a 14-year-old girl?)

—I seriously believe that this absurd decision marks the
beginning of the end of the world as we know it.  Or at
the least confirms the absolute global power of the corporatists
   and crass commercialism.

You know Hitler was person of the year too, yeah?

It's not about the best person of the year.

He was far more momentous and significant than a singing, prancing popette.

That's right folks: Frank likes Mr. Hitler better than Ms. Swift.

You heard it here first.

Gawd, you are a grotesque, creepy turd, turd.

EVERYONE on the list of Time Person of the Year was more momentous and significant (the words do not mean preferable or more likable, repulsive shitehead) than a singing, prattling, pranzing poppette.

A brilliant marketing strategy by Time Magazine.

If they had chosen Frank's hero - Putin - they would have sold a few hundred copies of the magazine to crusty old farts like him.

But by choosing TayTay, they're gonna sell millions and millions of copies to a whole new audience of teenage girls.

I don't like her music by the way - it's puerile crap, mostly written using variations of the I, V, vi, IV chord progression.

However, it seems like she's got a good head on her shoulders and, by getting millions of young people to register to vote, she's gonna have a huge influence on next year's presidential election.

And hey, she makes a lot of people happy so good luck to her.

Her music is absolute, immature, infantile rubbish.

I got Google to find her best song:

How can people let their brains be insulted by that?

I liked her teenage more country stuff, she was a very impressive teen. This is also good from the CMA awards a few years back playing with some of the greats. (I agree shake it off was crappy).

Taylor doing this Vance Joy song is probably what gave him his break.

Nope - I don't want my YouTube algorithm stuffed up.

If I had to guess though, I'd say it was a programmed drum machine.

She is playing standards at her Paris concert by
some of most famous song writers and composers.
