Husqvarna electric lawn mower & whipper snipper
Dec 6th, 2023 at 9:55am

Just had one of each delivered, 2 batteries. Might use one in each tool—an hour of mowing will be plenty for my poor joints to cope with.

I bought the LC3471VX mower that has self propulsion (drains the battery.)

I had been thinking of a rideon but won’t need that—vege patch and the rows of trees will be gravel then with flower beds/wildflower meadows etc even less lawn.

I bought a Ryobi 36 Volt battery mower recently.

Very happy with it. It increases the power itself when it hits a tough patch. Very light and easy to push. Catcher empties well and it gives a cleaner cut than my old petrol mower.

Yeah.

Ryobi is not junk like Black & Decker etc but IMHO only, not as good as other brands.

I like the selfpropulsion.

I think I will use one battery in the mower, one in the whippersnipper. That gives me 1 hour of mowing which will be plenty.

When i was on the GC I bought one of those. I never had to mow the lawns again.
It was so light and easy to use my 12 yr old took up all the lawn mowing duties. He even started mowing the neighbours lawns for a fee, but if he did them both together the battery wouldn't last so he usually did my lawns then her front yard and he'd finish her back yard the next day.

Great, a mate of mine bought an electric mower, he loves it.
Far less tiring to use. Quiet, smooth.

Regards the batteries, it is better to discharge them to just 20% then recharge them to just 80%.
They will have a longer life.
Advise is to not run them totally flat or leave them on the charger till they are 100% charged.

Bloody pussies!  Cheesy

When I was a kid, my Grand-Pappy would make me use one of those rotating non-electrical/petrol two wheel push mowers on his property full of thick Buffalo Grass.

...I still use one.

HTFU !  Grin

If you have couch grass as I did at my last house  -
battery powered whipper snippers and lawn mowers aren't powerful enough.
I had to buy a self propelled petrol mower and whipper snipper to get anything done.
I did use an electric edger for all the edging but
it used a long extension lead to connect to the mains for more power.

He's a tight-arse alright.
Would rather buy petrol for himself (can sniffer) than for a mower.  Grin
