Paris attack near Eiffel Tower leaves German tourist dead and two injured

French police have arrested a man who fatally stabbed a German tourist and injured two others in Paris, near the Eiffel Tower.

The attacker went after a German couple with a knife, killing the man, and then used a hammer to injure two others on Saturday night.

Police subdued the 25-year-old French citizen, who had previously spent four years in prison for planning another violent offence, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said.
