Now Niall Ferguson can publish the second volume of his biography of Kissinger.

Kissinger gave Ferguson unfettered access to all of his documents and records to write a warts-and-all biography which Kissinger thought would take so long to write, he'd be dead before it was published.

However, Ferguson's first volume was published in 2015.

The second volume, covering Kissinger's life from 1968, is yet to be published.

This second volume will probably 'indict' Kissinger, but now that he's dead, not.

And he pursued a policy of detente with the Soviet Union that led to arms control agreements and raised the possibility that the tensions of the Cold War and its nuclear threat did not have to last forever.
