You shouldn't be so quick to believe everything you read on social media.

Flawed body of research indicates true ‘long COVID’ risk likely exaggerated

Overly broad definitions and lack of comparator groups have distorted risk, say researchers
Leading to increased public anxiety and healthcare spend; misdiagnoses; diversion of funds

Major flaws in the current body of published research on ‘long COVID’ have likely greatly exaggerated the true risks of developing the condition, suggests an analysis published in BMJ Evidence Based Medicine.

Overly broad definitions, a lack of appropriate, or any, comparison groups, among other things, in studies looking at the incidence, prevalence, and control of the condition—epidemiology—have distorted the risks, say the researchers.

This is further compounded by inclusion of poorly conducted studies into systematic reviews and pooled data analyses that end up overstating the risk yet again, they add.

The likely consequences of this include, but aren’t limited to, increased public anxiety and healthcare spend; misdiagnoses; and diversion of funds from those who really do have other long term conditions secondary to COVID-19 infection, suggest the researchers.

...Carl, I'm calling BS on 14.6 % of people getting long covid.

The Australian long COVID probabilities were obtained
from studies conducted in NSW and by the Office of
the National Statistics in the UK.

A recent population-based cohort study in NSW following
94% of the confirmed cases between April and July 2020
found that 20% of the COVID survivors still experienced
symptoms within a month and around 5% at three months.

Meanwhile, in the UK, the COVID infection survey was
conducted following 21,622 participants who tested
positive from swab tests. The study noted Long COVID
prevalence of 22.1% and 9.8% at five and 12 weeks
respectively and was later updated to 21.0% at five weeks
and 13.7% at three months.

I don't.

Dr. Lisa Iannattone knows her stuff.

And the report she linked to isn't on social media.

Please keep us up to date on their progress over the next few years.

Especially if they get infected more than once. And extra especially if they haven't been vaccinated or they're not up to date with their vaccinations.

Thanks.

If they stay away from McDonald's and crispy Kreme doughnuts
If they hit the gym
If they do some intense physical exercise three times a week
They will probably be healthy

In other words
We must not discount the important aspect of

Personal responsibility

People mentioned on facebook that they caught covid at the local pool. It must be going around. I will have to get my mask ready before I do my next work shift.

For those who had Covid, consider getting lipid profile and basic bloods done. Just saw a young patient with heart attack. Fit and well previously. Had Covid infections x2. No family history. This is not normal. Covid attacks blood vessels. Wear a mask! You deserve clean air.

It is not about being fringe, or introducing race to ridicule others, the simple fact is, that you don't like being told what to do and no amount of evidence will change your mind because you're a stubborn old prick who would rather see people die than being told to stay home in the early days of the virus when we didn't know enough about it.  What we did know set off alarm bells, but you "knew" it was only the sniffles, so fu
ck
everyone else.

There's that aussie mateship...

As long as you personally don't have to take any responsibility for your actions, while championing "personal responsibility", that's all that matters.

If Scoot can do what he wants, who cares what happens to anyone else.  Unless they're women, then in the world of personal responsibility, it's all still their fault.

You'd think personal responsibility comes with accountability, but it's interesting how often he blame shifts to others.

So in terms of COVID, he won't change his story unless he's walking up to the stage to collect a Herman Cain award, and even then, he probably would ride that rollercoaster all the way to hell screaming "it's just the sniffles!!!".

No... avoiding junk food and exercising will not prevent
and/or preclude suffering from long COVID symptoms.

Suffering from long COVID also has nothing to do with
"personal responsibility".

Considering the plethora of informed medical data
available across the internet, I can't understand why
you repeatedly make so many nonsensical claims about
COVID and its vaccinations, and their alleged effects.

incorrect

your position and carls position is nothing about mateship and all about selfish "me,me,me" .

a mate wouldnt want to see his friends who own a gym or a resturant driven into bankruptcy by rediculous lockdowns

a mate wouldnt want to see the teenagers in his street miss out on playing team sports and seeing their friends

a mate wouldnt want loved ones to be seperated and call for qantas to never fly because they might spread a germ

"me,me,me " is what your philosophy is about

totally selfish

i do believe carl and yourself would have tossed kids out of lifeboats on the titanic because old people , like yourselves see yourself as living gems

Congratulations.

That would have to be the most stupid thing you've ever posted here.

And it's had some tough competition for first place from some of your other stupid posts during the past few years, believe me.

Here's your trophy.
