Asimov's 'Robots of Dawn' curse
Oct 9th, 2023 at 7:00pm

Isaac Asimov wrote long ago back in the 1950's about the birth of Artificial Intelligence and Robots.
A movie from one of his novels 'I, Robot' was more Hollywood, than Canon. As too was the Bicentennial Man.
He has written many novels and in series form depicting Humanity and its creation in its own image - Robots with Artificial (Positronic) Intelligence and has covered the consequences in so many ways.

Here's a recent clip about the current 'abilities' of A.I's/Robots and especially how they can exhibit negative, aggressive abilities.

...will those in Power use A.I-Robots to wage war, kill and more??
I mean, 'we're only human'
Wink

As Asmiov's First Law of Robotics has long since gone out the window I see only problems ahead if AI is allowed to develop to the point of self awareness.

People are generally overly alarmed by the term
"artificial intelligence".  It's largely a media beat up.

It can only ever exist as programmed, computerised
algorithms, or as ones and zeros.

AI fails the principle test of true "intelligence".

And it's summed up by a single word—logic.  Or
its lack thereof.

As of today, there is no electro-mechanical device that
possesses logic—as we understand the human form to be.

Maybe in 100 years we'll see logic built into AI machines,
but I certainly won't see true artificial intelligence in my
lifetime.

Logic will come, when A.I learns to lie.
