Sure. Boxing Day 2021(?) everything closed in Loxton. Found KFC and MacDonalds open. Bought cheeseburgers and green salad for myself and Mum.

Jesus! Tiny tiny buns, a salad of iceberg lettuce minus most of the green leafy part. Disgusting. But better than hunger. That is the third MacDonalds I ate in my life, none since.

I was 13 years old the first time that I ever had McDonalds. My little brother made it his mission to eat "Donalds!" for tea whenever the question was raised as to what to eat. When a McDonalds opened across from my high school in 1994, it created both an opportunity for students to get a job there, or to sneak out of the school and cross the highway for lunch.

I am 46 years old and I am starting to find that I am getting too old to be eating McDonalds. I had some the other night after work. But I found that I was the eldest person in the restaurant awaiting my meal. I did not enjoy the meal. The burger was poorly made. The fries were underwhelming -- although this was not the worst meal I have had there. The drink was the only thing worthwhile because it was properly mixed and not too much ice.

It was either that, or having to prepare something at home. And the spare change I had in my change bag was weighing me down.
