'The "blue moon" reference is applied to the third full moon in a season with four full moons, thus correcting the timing of the last month of a season that would have otherwise been expected too early'. Your moon is not blue, it's yellow. It's full because it was full 28 days before. People should have just ignored it then and waited for this one, but do they wait? No.

This photo actually had me thinking how odd it was that when I zoomed in, the clouds all disappeared and it was black surrounding the moon!
I zoomed out again and the clouds were still there.

Reply #10 - Sep 1^st, 2023 at 12:03am the pics above taken about 7.30 pm these next ones about 2 am I guess with halloween the spookiness of the night moon suits as I was standing underneath the palm trees and the water droplets held in the fronds from the earlier rain dropped on my head and surprised me! Would'nt be halloween if it didnt spook me a little

I don’t use a tripod because I get lazy so I hand held but leaning with elbows over the car bonnet to steady the camera. Look at this close up! I reckon if I get a bigger zoom lens I will spot anomalies
