Interesting comparison in multicultural sentencing
Jul 21st, 2023 at 10:16am

Two Aussie woman each jailed for 8 years for fraud

https://www.9news.com.au/national/helen-mary-rosamond-jailed-defrauding-millions...

Two Muslims free to go home for fraud

https://www.smh.com.au/national/husband-and-wife-day-care-fraudsters-spared-jail...

Both were serious cases of fraud, the second one here was suspected of being $4million, not just the total of $168K they were charged over

The carrying of knives by Sikhs allowed in schools

Compared to everyone else ...

Australia Knife Laws: Can I Carry A Knife In Australia?
Schools: No type of knife is allowed on school grounds either private or public. This regulation includes the public and private institutions of higher education

It's just one more hazard of multiculturalism. One of those knives was used to stab a school student in 2021, the offender was free to go home

"A 14-year-old boy who nearly killed his classmate after stabbing him with a knife has avoided jail after a judge ruled he was allowed to carry the blade for religious reasons."

"He used a Sikh knife, also known as a kirpan, to stab a 16-year-old student twice in the stomach during a fight at Glenwood High School in Sydney's northwest on May 6, 2021."

“He chased the victim yelling "I'm going to kill you"...then stood over him and stabbed him twice before running away”

"The victim spent 12 days in hospital, with doctors having to urgently open up his chest to stem the bleeding after his kidney, intestine and liver were punctured in the attack."

Are Christian school kids allowed to wear crosses around their necks? Crosses were banned weren't they?

I carry one of these tiny knives on my keyring
as an EDC.  According to Victorian police, it's
regarded as a bladed weapon, and is illegal to
possess and/or carry in public.

...

When manually extended, the blade is 10mm long.

This is a ceremonial kirpan, as worn by Islamic
schoolboys.  Note the 65mm length of the fixed
blade.  (Kirpan comes from the Persian and
literally means "bringer of mercy".)

              ...

Which is the more likely to cause a stabbing death
or serious injury?

This is another classic example whereby limp-dick
Australian laws are compromised due to the political
powers of the religious far right.

And I'd defy John Smith to find even one single
case of a single serious injury resulting from the
type of little knife I carry with me—particularly
considering it's sold and carried on thousands of
keyrings globally.

Where the Judge got it wrong, is that the Kirpan is not part of the Sikh religion, but a weapon to defend the religion and it's believers

She adjudicated that the religion itself requires Sikhs to carry a knife (Kirpan), and that since we have multiculturalism, and freedom of religion, nothing should stop them from carrying it. But a dagger is a symbol of violence, and the Kirpan is not a symbol of anything else but violence ... it's for stabbing. What else could it represent? It's a long held belief in the old country, that it was needed if Sikhs got into a fight

She also said it would be racist to stop them carrying the knife ... apparently she failed to realize the anyone can become a Sikh, so the race argument goes straight out the window. "Race" doesn't come into it at all - she should be sacked

This brings us back to what governments in OZ should do about these Kirpans. Firstly they should declare those knives illegal in accordance with weapon laws, and then allow only a small substitute in the form of a lapel pin or something of that sort, just symbolic, that's all it needs to be ... even then, it still represents violence

I don't believe conceal carry is the right way to go. Let it be a small symbolic item worn on clothing. That way we can see that Sikhs are violent people by nature, or were in their old country. Sikhs are sending a message to younger generations that it's ok to be violent, as long as they're religious about it

The Sikh are not Islamic. The oldest son becomes a Sikh warrior who traditionally protected them from muslims.

Many Sikh gurus have been executed by Islamic leaders for failing to embrace Islam.

If they have Singh in their name they would be a Sikh

Many workers & farmers carried a small pocket knife in a clip top sheath put on their belts or stitched onto their belts.

That is also now banned.

What amazes me here is the non religious leftoids who are jumping to the defence of Sikhs & their religious customs.

Yet continue to hang shyte on Christians & their religions.

Hypocrites.

Often stupidity is just stupidity and trying to expand on it is futile. Take your comment for example, why would I search for proof for an argument I never made? Seriously, were you drunk at the time or just over medicated?
