It would depend on what I am doing. If I am going out somewhere after breakfast, I would always brush my teeth. I would brush my teeth before I would go to work. I would brush my teeth as one of the last things I do before I go to bed. In fact, if I do not brush my teeth before I go to bed, I usually have a poorer night's sleep. Mum guilt-tripped my siblings and I to brush our teeth before bed so much that she would make sure we were not allowed to sleep before we brushed our teeth.

Knowing what I know now about dental hygiene's importance, I would have brushed my teeth three times a day throughout my childhood.

Twice.
And floss after every meal.
Those new disposable floss tools are awesome.

The only time I tend to floss is about every time I have a steak dinner.

I also have a thing about trying to use dental floss as my own kind of braces. My bottom front teeth have a noticeable gap between them. So, I tie the floss around them and pull them as close together as I can.

Floss, rinse, brush, rinse - twice a day.  Every day.

Check-up and clean at the dentist every 6 months.

Going back to university, I found that I could get free dental care quicker through the CQU. I have a dental appointment waiting list with the Rockhampton Hospital. But, I could double up with the CQU's dental department.

Yep.

My dentist doesn't get much work from me.

Every 6 months he has a look and says "Keep doing whatever it is you're doing - your gums are extremely healthy and there are no major problems with your teeth".

Regular flossing really is the key.

I can't leave the house or go to bed if I haven't flossed - even if it's only a very quick one.

Any recurring dreams?

I have on in which someone is pounding on the door, and the old girl is saying - "Get up - it sounds like the authorities!"  Shake self awake... stagger, unlatch door... instantly rushed by 2-3 Chinese guys and thrown to floor...

"You have screw driver!  You screwdriver fit box at Embassy!"

"It's a standard screwdriver and tiny."

"You enemy of state - have screwdriver open embassy boxes and boxes at port!"

"It's only an ordinary little screwdriver and I use it to open my travel bags - the catches stick.."

"You LIE!  You enemy of state... foreign spy! No clothing - you unna arres'!"

Weird .....

Mouthwash does not do much for you unless you want to hold mouthwash in your mouth for a couple minutes. I use baking soda as a type of mouth wash because it is more effective in dissolving the plaque on your teeth. And even then, you should be flossing at least once a week to take advantage of what the baking soda/mouthwash has done for your teeth.

I’ve only ever brushed my teeth twice a day. I brush thoroughly and use (ie gargle) Listerine mouthwash 1st thing in the morning and last thing before going to bed at night.

Last time I went to the dentist (a month ago) she advised that my teeth were very clean and were well maintained. Oh and I’ve never had a filling in my life.

Also my post coffee brushes are quick, just to get rid of coffee breath.

I think coffee breath is more due to your stomach being full of coffee. The coffee smell follows you in your sweat and in your urine.

At least twice a day. After breakfast - morning coffee ritual and at night before bed.

Floss everyday my dentist said you only have to floss the teeth you want to keep.

Listerine is really good for removing plaque the dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth was surprised i had no plaque which we credit Listerine for. A quick rinse before bed.

I keep a toothbrush, paste and floss in the car sometimes i might brush after a meal when out and going to another function.

At least twice a day.  Before my morning shower, which is inevitably after breakfast and at night before I go to bed.  And any time during the day when I feel the need for it.

I occasionally use these Piksters, particularly after
eating steak or chicken or pork, when floss struggles
a bit.  They also remove plaque between your teeth
where brushing tends not to reach if you have snug
teeth like I do.    'Gappy' teeth are easier to clean.

I have some Piksters in my bathroom cabinet. But, I hardly use them. The dental floss in my bathroom drawers have been there for a while, and I only have started to use them again. But, it feels like the plaque on my teeth are so hardened that it will take a dentist with the right dental equipment to remove them. Seeing a dentist next month. $90.

Whenever I need to take them out to replace the dental adhesive, or after a big meal.

So, at least once a day.

Interdental brushing with these is even more important than the usual brushing, my dentist tells me.
I use these after every meal.

I went two days without brushing my teeth once. Yesterday, I had to baking soda swish my teeth for 5 minutes to remove the build up. But, my teeth look like they are doing well.

I bought that "Reach" dental floss brush that helps you get to floss the back teeth. That had to be best invention since sliced bread. Other than the tooth extractions to remove decayed and broken molars, I have had to regularly floss the other molars to make sure there is not a considerable build up of plaque on those teeth.

My front teeth are experiencing a mild crowded mouth issue. My right incisor is slightly behind the front teeth. That has caused a slight rotation of the front tooth. And the only solution to my problem was to have my back top molars removed no later than my early teenage years. Having teeth extractions in my 20s, this has helped with uncrowding the back teeth. But, my incisors are not going to move to an even spacing.

I was at the dentist last week, for the first time in ten years. The clinician did a check up of my teeth and did some x-rays. Then I was told to come back for another time for the dental clean. They gave me a goody bag of picks, flosses, small toothpaste, and a new toothbrush. I was sent to radiology at the Base Hospital for a head scan.

The thing about my teeth is that no matter how much I brush, they are just going to be relatively clean. The descaler that the dentists use is what I have been longing to have done.

Why? The dentist says there's no need to brush teeth. Except the ones you want to keep.

Ouch!

I usually visit the dentist a couple of times a
year.  I've lost half a dozen teeth due to vertical
fracturing, straight down the middle.

Last year I got fitted with titanium framework
partial denture, and now I can eat steak again LOL.

Ka-ching...   $2,900 thank you very much.    Cheesy

What teeth?   Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin  Grin

I was going to say I brush my sheets every morning - with the swollen feet from heart failure the skin, stretched etc, is now flaking off and continues to do so.... nice fresh skin like a baby's replaces it.

I might be allowed a couple of visits to the Rockhampton community dental a couple times a year. But, after this week's dental visit, I will probably not get free dental treatment again under my health care card. I could visit my university dental practice. But, seeing that I have a booking for this month, I will have to delay that until 6 months from now. That will cost me $90, anyway.

Oh fun. I went to my dental appointment, yesterday. I went to the counter to check in. The receptionist said that my appointment was not for another hour. I checked my phone to see that I had an appointment in the 15 minutes after I arrived. I told the receptionist that fact. She checked my messages and saw that I was due at the time I said. She made some enquiries and then decided to have another look at the message. Then she found out that I was actually due for an appointment at the CQU Oral Health at that time.

The receptionist made a phone call to CQU to sort out the problem. A couple of minutes later, after the reception found that they could not contact anyone, I got a phone call from CQU to ask if I "needed directions" -- complete with a sarcastic tone of voice. I told them that I had the appointments confused, given that I got two confirmation messages that day. CQU Oral Health told me that I had a $20 "no-show" fee to pay. I told them that I would have to rebook for next year. They said April would be the earliest.

So, here I was at the Rockhampton Community Dental. I get back after a lunch break (sandwich and water) and get seen to by my clinician. She gave me the all-clear with my X-ray assessment. Then they get in to do the cleaning. I was then reminded how terrible the sound of the descaler sounded as the dentist cleaned off the built-up plaque off my teeth. Basically, I have this clean done now, and I can go to the CQU Oral Health in 8 months' time for another cleaning.
