60,000 years of indigenous presence in Australia. In all that time, they have not built an advanced society, made a mass transportation system, cities, extensive medical knowledge, a means of storing food, structures, advanced musical compositions, etc.

Meanwhile, the Britons, with 12,000 years of human civilisation, have done all those advancements and more -- much of it in the last 300 years.

FMD........they met the demands of their environment to the extent they chose or needed.

WTF do you expect the penguins in Antarctica to behave like the apes in Africa?

You would expect that indigenous Australians could have made something out of the continent, instead of living a Stone Age existence.

That's the problem.  "We" have been imposing OUR expectations on those we dispossessed violently.

Did it not occur to you that they were perfectly content with their way of living and had no need to seek change?

I might as well toss you into a Court Room and have an expectation that you will know the Law as I do.

That makes as much sense as your point.

That the frickin' thing. They were content to live a Stone Age existence. It would have taken an Ice Age for them to develop new technology to survive. And the last one Australia had ended before the first indigenous Australians arrived on the continent.

It's called democracy Aussie. They have an equal say in it. Let us know when you come up with a better alternative.

Are you saying they chose to live the way they did rather than how societies overseas lived?

You call this one line exact details of this alleged non-existent danger?

Quote:
You won't have details until afterwards Aussie. That's the nature of risk.

I am not promoting pointlessness.  I am debunking the bullshit you and your mates like Jones, Boris and Frank are trying to scare people with.

It is tokenism, a nod, a gesture, a hand shake well over due.

But, you go cower under the bed and tremble with fear of the big bad black boogieman, Effendi.  You seem most comfortable there.

Perhaps you should say what it is you are trying to debunk.

Can you explain the difference between a token change to our constitution and a pointless change?

There is no risk,  that's why fd is struggling to explain the risks. He's hoping most are stupid enough to fall for his emotional scare campaign  Cheesy

Are you suggesting we should stop expecting aborigines to not be racist, sexist douchebags, because people in the past had expectations of them?

So what?  They felt no need so why do you reckon you have the right to impose your culture on them?

They do now, but they did not while we systematically destroyed them after dispossessing them

Yiss, yiss, yiss...Effendi. No doubt about you.  It only takes a few hours for you to understand simple words sometimes.

You asked Mr Smith how old he reckons you are.  Ima thinking mid 40s and maybe still sleeping with a teddy and dummy.

I am not imposing MY culture onto them. They are trying to impose THEIR culture on me. The only difference is that if every Australian started adopting indigenous Australian culture, you could imagine that a decade from now, our Asian neighbours might start thinking that the Stone Age Australians might need some modernisation and some liberation of the natural resources we still have at our disposal.
