Here’s a pic of a boat ramp in Port Phillip Bay that no one dares to launch a boat on this day! It looks like open sea!

Nicest thing I have seen with seagulls was one night when prawning with my daughter there was a mother seagull swimming around with a brood of babies. The were seagulls but about 4 or 5 inches in size, they were the cutest little things. First time I have realised that I have never seen a baby seagull before. They obviously go out around midnight.

Alaskan Malamute

The Alaskan Malamute is the big cousin of the Siberian Husky. While looking very similar, these dogs are a lot larger. Males can reach up to 95 pounds in size and stand as tall as 26 inches.

When we cruised the inside passage of Alaska, one excursion I booked was to see the sled dogs. We were given a ride on the sleds with them. They are so gorgeous! I went in amongst them to pat and talk to them, the trainers/owners were telling me their names

We later went down the mountain terrain via 4WD truck to see the newly born puppies and were allowed to hold them! They spoke of the benefits for pups to be more social with humans and with other pups/dogs. I also learnt about the long distance sled dog competitions in Alaska.
I put on their big warm furry coat and gloves used in the comp and had a photo taken with an antique sled they had on display. I thoroughly enjoyed it all. Very educational.
