I’d be tempted to take a quick walk along the beach after which I’d grab a coffee before heading back home.

There’s no way I’d be jumping into that water for a swim though. 🥶

It’s cold here too. All heaters are ON and we’re wearing warm pjs and ugg boots. Our golden retriever is wearing warm clothes like this 👇

Golden Retrievers shed continuously. And I think that’s why they don’t have a thick coat. They also have longer thinner hair though compared to their 1st cousins - the Labradors.

Trust me ... these dogs SHED their fur non stop. I’m forever vacuuming and mopping. 😩😔

What can you do? They’re part of the family.

I know -
I knew an owner once who had his house covered in dog fur from his Golden Retrievers.
It was almost impossible to clean up properly.
They even shed fur in Winter.

In Melbourne the temp is 4 degrees but the water temperature is at 13 degrees.

As soon as the westerlies hit the water temp dives.
It was close to 19 last week, today was 17. The big pool at Icebergs was 16 and the wading pool, which gets coldest was 13deg. I managed to stay in the 13deg pool for about 20 mins.

Yeah, sort of. The ekman effect can make the water temp plummet overnight.

In summer the typical pattern is 3 or 4 strong NEers in a row and water drops a few deg. Then a southerly blows in and warm it back up.

About 10 years ago in spring the water was edging up to 19deg, the next morning out of nowhere it was 14deg!!

I agree. Monk needs to surrender that poor long-suffering tropical dog immediately and buy a more climate - appropriate pet. I think this one would be just perfect for Monk. 👇

My parents have two dogs that are accustomed to warmer weather. And whilst I know that winter around these parts lasts for about 2 weeks on average, it does get pretty cold at night during the winter. That is why Mum and Dad bought the dogs their own tents covering their beds. Plus, they get to put jackets on at night.

Dare I say that Monk would be wise enough to be making arrangements so that Socks does not get cold at all during the freezing nights.

Your immune system will then fight off the infection and create its own antibodies. Then your immune system has a new way to fight off similar viruses and germs.
