FORD is so Crap that they should have gone completely under if it wasn't for the 'sympathy' marketing push of the Mustangs to keep them afloat.
The Ford Mustangs are still crap, like Ford - but people keep hope for something better. Unlike Holden, Ford's death is a slow lingering demise.

It's just the Yank built stuff.

Ford Australia built the barra motor and it is by far the strongest Australian 6 cylinder ever made.
The G6E turbo is a beautiful vehicle.
Take one for a spin if you get the chance.
You won't regret it, especially if it's had a few mods.

Yes.  But I'll have a shiny new (ish) Mustang.

What. would. be. the. f

cking. point?

I owned a 1986 Mitsubishi Colt, back in the 1990s. Great on fuel economy. But, if I had the money, I would probably still have it as an unregistered car that I would have restored. But, if I wanted a performance car, I might get a Monaro.

Yesterday in a shopping carpark and old guy pulled up next to me in an 80s Honda accord and it looked like he'd had it since new and was in great condition. Looked lovely, these were the kind of old cars we bought as first cars, so I felt a little sentimental.

Yeah-yeah. You have got me there. I had this impression that greggery wanted to buy some classic/vintage Mustang or whatever. I did not realise that there were 2020 versions of the Mustang.

Obviously, if I had the money, I would be smart enough to not waste money on getting a Colt. But, I might be obsessive enough to have kept my Mitsubishi after it was replaced by my next car, and just keep it in the garage to be restored down the line. Car enthusiasts do that with 1980s-style cars, these days. Although there would not be much enthusiasm for restoring a Mitsubishi Colt.

Given that most decent sized electronic vehicles cost $60,000 to $75,000 and you can get a petrol engined car for less than half that, I can't see how saving money on petrol can be cited as a justification for going electric by itself.  As you can get 5 or 6 litres per kilometre from a lot of cars these days, how many decades would it take to recoup the extra cost?

Lithium batteries in Phones laptop Cars etc only last 2500-3000 cycles.

Electric cars aren't going to last as long as fossil fuel cars.

The first Telsas were made on a Lotus Elise chassis over 10 years ago none of them are still on the road.
