Lithium batteries last for 2500-3000 cycles before they die. It doesn't matter if they're in a laptop, phone or car lithium batteries have a defined life.
Electric cars would be lucky to last 10 years before they're worthless.

Most late model cars would last around 15 years before they get expensive to own. The engine-gearbox etc will be fine it's all the electronic stuff like touchscreens etc that will die.

The AEB (automatic emergency braking) systems newer cars run will cause problems in future. A Mercedes a friend owns broke a windscreen in the country Obriens replaced the screen. They couldn't recalibrate the AEB camera so the car had brakes jammed on couldn't release them had to winch it onto a truck and tow it 300km+ back to Mercedes dealer.

My next new car will probably be Subaru WRX or BRZ in manual because they don't have that rubbish like AEB. Manuals are cheaper long term auto services can add up over the years.

If you want a cheap car to run get a Toyota Hybrid Corolla (sedan) or Camry.

My SS Torana is 45 years old much cheaper to own than any newer car very little to go wrong. It's now worth 10X what i paid for it.

My most adored vehicle.
I owned an LX hatch once, and sold it cheap, even had the hatch hutch.

I owned a 1986 Mitsubishi Colt, back in the 1990s. Great on fuel economy. But, if I had the money, I would probably still have it as an unregistered car that I would have restored. But, if I wanted a performance car, I might get a Monaro.

Yes.

But he has to pay for it or sexually assault women in order to get it.

So,  we can see why you admire (relate to) him so much.

Trump flashes his money among mainly Eastern European women trying to get a green card into the United States. But, if he was that unattractive, he would find it impossible to get laid, no matter how much money he had.

You, greggery, have reached an age where it would take more than just money to attract a lady into your life.

Driving it makes me happy.

I didn't get to test drive it again today - Perth was belted with hail storms all day, and the temperature was about 9 degrees most of the day.

If it's still for sale tomorrow, I'll take it for a spin then.

Edit: Oh damn, it sold today  Cry

The price is a bit high though   Sad

https://www.johnhughesford.com.au/used-ford-burswood/view/2020-Ford-Mustang/2838...

When it sold new in 2020 the price was $64,000.

Now, after 3 years and 14,000 kms, they want $1,000 more.

And, they'll get that price easy.

I doubt I'll ever own an electric vehicle.

My next car will be a V8.  Probably a Mustang.

I'm going in for a second test-drive of this one tomorrow (today is a public holiday):

https://www.johnhughesford.com.au/all-stock/view/2017-Ford-Mustang/28238865

I like petrol-guzzling, real cars.

Well, we're just going to have to agree on this one.
Ford Mustangs are the cashed up bogan car of choice, but sometimes bogans know whats fun. Mustangs are a terribly under appreciated car, I'd love one.

I'm feeling very motorcyly buyyee at the moment, but the infestation of Eastern Suburbs Cayan driving housewives would kill me.

I haven't got the green light for one of these yet, but it's going to happen.

Late 90s Jeep or Nisan Patrol Wink

Come to think of it now.
I wouldn't mind an old Bedford (modified) with the front slide doors for Driver and Passenger so I can piss on a mustang while still driving.

I wanted a XC Cobra one of the 31 Bathurst specials went for over half a million last year prices are insane for Cobras and GT's. If i can find a good XB-XC coupe at the right price i might restore it into a Cobra replica.

The day Ford hero Moffat raced an A9X at Amaroo, skip to around 5 min for race.

How's the sound of those things?
Geez we had a brilliant vehicle manufacturing culture in this country.

FORD is so Crap that they should have gone completely under if it wasn't for the 'sympathy' marketing push of the Mustangs to keep them afloat.
The Ford Mustangs are still crap, like Ford - but people keep hope for something better. Unlike Holden, Ford's death is a slow lingering demise.

From the article.

For the safety minded, the 2020 Ford Mustang GT only gets a 3-star ANCAP rating

Commodores are 5 star.
Falcons are 4 star.
5 is the top number it can score.

My neighbour had a 2020 mustang.
Yank crap.
Check the rear blind spots.
And getting in and out of the thing.
Good luck with it.

Better off with a performance car that's built for this country.
LS will rev all day every day.
Barras are the same.
