So you say he will appeal but have no idea why or on what grounds.

I say he will appeal out of sheer stupidity and arrogance, and he will lose that appeal.

The Judge has made findings of fact and no appeal court is going to upset those findings unless there was no credible basis for making them in the first place and that is far from the case in this matter.

I think he will appeal (to save face).

I’m not sure about the result of said appeal. I also don’t like his chances.

Hang on....no something isn’t right here.

The Taliban aka a notorious terrorist group is now complaining about Aussie soldiers in Afghanistan ffs?

Nope. Something isn’t adding up. Check this out 👇

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-06-02/peter-dutton-says-ben-roberts-smith-court...

Key points:

1. Peter Dutton says there has been 'significant culture change' since Ben Roberts-Smith was in the defence force

2. Veteran groups have warned the court outcome could stall defence force recruitment efforts

3. The Taliban says the incidents examined in the Australian case are a "small part" of the many alleged Afghanistan war crimes

What BS is this ???

Afghans have given their life for Uncle Sam's 'freedom' and they were not given the choice of declining the generous offer of Uncle Sam and ScoMo.

Why can't we do both?

A 3yold boy was stabbed to death. A young woman was beaten to death. A teenager and man were shot to death ... all in the last week, here, in Australia

There's been countless domestic violence murders of both women and children in recent years

A wife was jailed for killing her husband with a poisoned biscuit and given a lenient sentence for the premeditated murder

Two men were run over by a car and killed by a drunk driver the other day

and how many of them were awarded the highest honor this country has to offer?

You don't know what he did yet

And you call yourself a lawyer

Howabout you start urging the fed government to apologize to 1960s conscripts who had a two year jail sentence hanging over their heads if they didn't comply with learning how to kill people

I was never instructed about legalities, nor was I ever asked to recite the oath of allegiance to Her Majesty as per the Oath and the Constitution ... so who was I being asked to go to war for? Kerry Packer? That pompous idiot Bob Menzies? That cross-dresser freak Barry Humphries? ... You'd have to be friggin joking

When we've got a moral society and governments, we'll get moral soldiers numbnuts

I know what a Judge has determined he did.  Murder people in captivity, and more.

What makes you think you are Pat Malone as a bloke who lived in the 60s?

This Thread is NOT about that.  Take your whinge to some other thread.  This is about an arsehole who let his mates and his Country down.  He can get fuqqed/imprisoned etc etc as there is no excuse for what he has been found to have done.

Australia never declared war yet had forced conscription and so did the Yanks -
in my opinion that's a crime against humanity.

https://www.history.com/news/united-states-official-declarations-war

The United States has officially declared war 11 times during five separate military conflicts. According to the Constitution (Article I, Section 8), Congress has the exclusive power to declare war. The last time America declared war was during World War II. The Korean War, the War in Vietnam, and the extended campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq were never stamped with congressional declarations of war.

We know what he did, son, he admitted it.

Chucked someone off a cliff, then sent his men down to finish him off.

Killed a disabled kid and an old guy in cold blood, took home the kid's leg and drank VB out of it back at the NCO club.

The guy's a cunt. We're Aussies. We don't hold pricks like this up as heroes. We give them a good old fashioned rogering and hand what's left of them over to the MP.

You?

You don't understand.
Not declaring war and conscripting people against their will are
two actions we've seen from the past -
this time we have one of them - no declaration of war
yet somehow our Govt. has sent soldiers to Afghanistan -
maybe against their will? -
also there was never a vote in parliament either.
It seems we do whatever the Yanks tell us to do.

Aussies went into Afghanistan with the full backing on the UN, son. Roberts-Smith was wearing a blue beret. That means don't slaughter the local civilians, capiche?
