Earth tremor…

I just turned off tv. Closed off wood heater fan, sat in quiet lounge looking at mulled wine recipes on my phone …when…
…11.41 pm I felt the earth tremor and heard its vibration as it passed through as house rattled. (I checked there’s no wind outside)
Was only about 3-4 seconds…..and as I’ve typed this my son just texted me saying he felt an earth tremor! He lives over an hour away from where I am.

Bobby? Geoff? (any other Victorians?)

I remember some years ago, I was sitting in bed reading. All of a sudden, I felt my butt wiggle in bed. After a few seconds, I wondered if that was me or if we just had an earthquake. The next morrow, I found that there was a 5.1 magnitude earthquake somewhere north of Rockhampton.

Checking the security footage to see if the earthquake registered anything up here.

Nowhere near as strong as one we had a few years ago, which lasted a lot longer - maybe 20 seconds or so? but that one was nearer to us.

That was the one that collapsed a pub in Chapel street South Yarra Sept 22 2021??

The 5.9 magnitude quake hit near Mansfield, 180km north-east of Melbourne, about 9.15am today, according to Geoscience Australia.
The earthquake is the largest Victoria has ever experienced.
