I would not fork out money to see if I am sick. I am sick. I have that ticklish sore throat. My nose is starting to become runny. I bought a 10 pack of Hard Rated Alcoholic Lemon to try and kill the virus. So far, it is doing well. But I will be sick by tomorrow afternoon with a full on cold.

Fair enough.

I should probably say at this point that if it is Covid you risk infecting a lot of other people if you don't isolate for at least 10 days but I'm pretty sure you won't do that seeing as no one else does anymore (a deliberate failure by our governments) despite that fact that Covid is still making a lot of people sick with many still dying (especially the elderly).

But don't ask me for numbers to prove it because our governments (State and Federal) don't release them anymore - not even Covid deaths in Australian Aged Care which was one of the last things they stopped reporting last year. They still have the numbers but they're apparently too afraid to release them nowadays (because of The Economy God they worship so much).

Covid still isn't a "mild respiratory virus" like a cold or even the flu and it probably never will be. It is a dangerous SARS virus that attacks multiple body organs even if it feels like "just a cold".

And, despite his denials I still believe aquascoot is still recovering from Covid which he caught on a plane several weeks ago. I'm pretty sure he didn't isolate for 10 days but probably didn't infect too many people after he got home - just the other 9 people in Nowheresville, Outback Queensland (population:10).

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Lol

On my grandchildren lives.
Runny nose requiring 2 Kleenex tissues.
Positive test
That is all.

Worrying about covid will raise Carl's cortisol and result in premature dementia diabetes and cancer.

All because he lived in dread for 8 years about a mild respiratory virus  Embarrassed

I took 2 Strepsil cough lollies last night before bed. The sore throat did not eventuate. I have enough Sudafed spray to last me until the end of the winter. Still not sure if it is covid or the influenza. It is starting to feel like covid, like what I had a few years ago.

I was going to have some KFC later tonight - hot 'n' spicy - as a way to prepare for a cold. Do any other people eat fast food when they realise that a cold is coming on? Typically, my weight drops from a lack of eating during a common cold.

Stay away from junk food and alcohol.

You're just pouring fuel onto the fire.

Eating fresh, unprocessed, spicy food won't hurt you though - eat some raw chillies and garlic.

No matter what, I tend to have a junk food feast before a common cold or influenza takes place. Usually, that is to fill the fat cells before I feel very unwell, and the fasting dries up the fat cells quite quickly.

I had that alcoholic lemon 10-pack last night. The drinks actually helped. But, I will be going through my lemon juice and my apple cider vinegar to kill off the virus.

Why roll the eyes? The citric acid helps kill off the virus. The immune system does the rest, with dead virus cells about.

No, it does not.

I'm not sure where you got that information from, but it's wrong.

If you already have a cold, ingesting citrus acid will not help kill off the virus.

It's absolute bullshit.

Similarly, drinking alcohol will not fight the virus.

FFS, where are you getting this crap from?

Probably the same place the drinking/injecting disinfectants and/or using ultraviolet or just very powerful light inside the body "ideas" to treat Covid came from.

It's crazy that in 2026 there are people out there who still believe this stuff.

In the end, they just make themselves sicker.

"That hot toddy (whiskey, lemon, and hot water) is not going to get rid of your cold. Hand sanitizers with alcohol may help destroy the cold virus on hands, but drinking alcohol doesn’t do the same. Alcohol dehydrates you. It dries your mucous membranes, causes discomfort, and makes it harder to fight the virus. A shot of alcohol might burn away a coating in your throat, but the resulting dehydration makes your cold last longer."

My "crap" information is probably more credible than your informed opinion. There is a thing about citric acid that goes about killing off germs. Lemon juice has been a home remedy for colds for decades. I managed to kill off the cold sore virus by drinking lime juice on a daily basis for some weeks. It was only in the last couple of months that a foreigner with a cold spluttered near me that I redeveloped the virus. Buying some lime juice tomorrow for part of the grocery shopping.

I doubt that alcoholic drinks do much to kill of viruses. The amount of sugar in the drinks are enough to feed the virus. I just bought the 10-pack of alcoholic lemon because I usually get a stronger buzz from having a cold and getting drunk on premixed drinks. For the remainder of the day, I will be having lemon water to treat what is left of the common cold.

Indeed they have.

They've gone from "we're not safe until we're all safe" to "You do you" while they pretend that Covid has gone away or it is no worse than a cold now.

They knew exactly what they were doing and the majority of our stupid population fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Still puzzles me why a class action lawsuit hasn't been filed yet by at least the relatives of the 7,000 or 8,000 elderly people who died from Covid in Aged Care over the past 4 or 5 years and also the relatives of the many people who caught Covid in hospitals and died.

Obviously the 'BS machine' was/still is running at full throttle with no one taking responsibility for anything (which is a very common 'theme' these days) and the relatives being told that "nothing could have been done to prevent it".

I have an elderly gentleman living near me who caught Covid in hospital (RPH - again) earlier this year and he's been in and out of hospital ever since. He's not home at the moment, hasn't been there for a week an a half this time so he must be in hospital again. Wouldn't surprise me if he's caught Covid or the flu again.

And all because staff refuse to do something as simple as wear a mask "it's not mandated so we don't have to do it".

Disgraceful stuff. As always.

That's what finished off my mother   Cry

She caught COVID in RPH, then RSV, then pneumonia - it was all too much for her frail body.

But yeah, RPH let down its guard and many people died.

I had to do a covid test every day when I went in to do my practical at an aged care facility. The facility did not stop some junkie phuckwit from obtaining her job as a supervisor, though.
