Yes, it's much more fun and exciting to stay unvaccinated and keep playing "Russian Roulette" with your health with infection after infection with a dangerous SARS virus, isn't it?

Every COVID Infection Increases Your Risk of Long COVID, Study Warns

Repeat COVID-19 Infections Could Double Your Risk of Long COVID

As a few of us here have said before - Covid took out (and continues to take out) the wrong people.

Antivaxxers, pollies and big business CEO's (especially airline and travel company CEO's) should have been at the top of SARS-CoV-2's 'hit list'.

Oh, look.

Tucked away at the bottom of page 23 in today's The West Australian.

Hospitals are still not a very safe place to be in, are they?

Another "returned traveller" of course.

And, what are the airlines, airports and our "awesome" Australian Centre for Disease Control (CDC) doing about it?

Nothing. As usual. Same as with Covid, flu and goodness knows how many other (human) diseases nowadays.

But, if there's even a hint of something like foot-and-mouth getting into the country (which affects livestock -  i.e. the economy) then they will be on to it like flies on sh!t.

Disgraceful stuff.

Oh no.

I call on the Australian government to IMMEDIATELY close all airports and keep carl safe.

The people of Australia would be devastated if carl caught measles.

It would be a bigger news story then bondi

Forget Covid - this on the way:

This is what Google AI says about the latest flu -  so it might be worth getting a vax if it covers that strain this year:

The new, rapidly spreading variant of the flu taking lives in the United States during the 2025-2026 season
is a strain of influenza A (H3N2) known as
subclade K.

While some media reports have dubbed this variant a "super flu" due to its ability to spread quickly, it is not a completely new virus, but rather a mutated version of the seasonal H3N2 virus that is better at evading immunity from vaccinations and prior infections.

Key Facts About the 2026 "Subclade K" Flu Surge:

Dominant Strain: Subclade K accounts for approximately 90% of circulating influenza A cases in the U.S. this season.
Severity: The CDC has classified the 2025-2026 season as "moderately severe," with hospitalizations and deaths surging early in the season.

Impact on Children: The strain is hitting children particularly hard, with high rates of pediatric hospitalizations and deaths reported early in 2026.
Vaccine Mismatch: Subclade K emerged after the 2025-2026 vaccine strains were finalized, resulting in a slight mismatch that reduces the vaccine's effectiveness against infection, although it still provides protection against severe disease and death.

Symptoms: In addition to typical influenza symptoms (fever, aches, fatigue), this variant has been associated with higher fevers (104-105°F) and more gastrointestinal issues like vomiting and diarrhea.
As of mid-January 2026, the CDC estimated over 18 million illnesses and thousands of deaths, with activity remaining high in most states.

That sounds like a bit of a worry, Bobby.

And, needless to say it'll be on the way here (if it isn't already here) thanks to the airlines ("not our problem, all we care about is money") and selfish, stupid people who choose to travel when they're sick.

I would also be very surprised if we hear anything about this in Australia from the government and the media of course.

Anybody home or awake at Australia's joke of a CDC? Of course not.

Looks like it might be time to prepare to 'bunker down' for the next 6 months or so. At least I don't need to worry about my elderly aunt catching things like this anymore.  Sad

Google AI:

United States: As of mid-January 2026, the CDC estimated at least 10,000 to 19,000 influenza-related deaths,
with the vast majority of circulating viruses identified as the subclade K variant.
Early estimates suggested over 3,100 deaths by the start of January.

And, with that dangerous nutjob RFK Jr. in charge of "health" in the US what's the bet that not many people were/are getting the flu vaccine?

Perhaps he can now explain why they're having so many flu deaths? I'm betting he can't (or won't).

People with the “super flu” are experiencing stronger symptoms and longer recovery times. Learn about the new flu strain called subclade K and how to protect yourself and your loved ones.

By Rohini Nepal, MBBS, Internal Medicine, Northern Dutchess Hospital, part of Northwell Health

Flu cases are surging nationwide and many are linked to Influenza A virus type H3N2, otherwise known as subclade K. It’s being described as the “super flu” because of how quickly the virus is spreading and how intense symptoms feel for people.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)(opens in a new window), influenza activity is high in many states on the East Coast, especially in New York, and continues to increase across the country.

So far, it is estimated there have been at least 7.5 million illnesses, 81,000 hospitalizations and 3,100 deaths reported from the flu this season. The subclade K variant continues to account for most confirmed cases nationwide.

Flu vaccinations have gone way down in the last 12 months compared to other years.

Subsequently, there has been a surge in cases with over 11 million reported this season.

All thanks to a guy who admits that a worm ate part of his brain.

And look what we have here. Nipah virus.

Page 28 of today's The West Australian.

Another lockdown unlikely unless it mutates? Nipah currently has a fatality rate of between 40 and 70 percent with no cure and no vaccine so far. How bad does it need to get?

Of course, after our spineless governments eventually caved in to the antivaxxers, antimaskers, antilockdowners and big business regarding Covid I can understand their reluctance to do anything about this unless people are dropping like flies everywhere (and these days I'm not too sure if they will do anything even if that happens).

Anyway, Australia's Health Minister Mark Butler assures us that the situation is being "monitored". Which really isn't too reassuring after the Covid fiasco.

Well, it might be time to stock up with food and other essentials (toilet paper.. lol) and get ready to 'bunker down' for the next few months. With the "superflu" that's been ravaging the US already on its way here - if it isn't already here - and now Nipah it might be a good time to think about staying home unless it's absolutely necessary to go out.

I'm sure aquascoot will be along shortly to tell us it's probably just another "mild respiratory virus" followed by CerealBrain who will probably insist it's another conspiracy of some sort.  Roll Eyes

Lockdowns are now unacceptable to the Australian public.
As is reducing tourism and novel vaccines.

The scaremongers had their chance with covid and they blew it.
Public health is now seen as a bit of a joke and rightly so.

No one , apart from Carl is fronting up for vaccine number 9 this year
If they are , they are mentally unstable

Again - for those at the back of the class:

Nipah virus currently has a 40 to 70 percent fatality rate.
No vaccine. No cure so far.

"Superflu" running rampant in the US and probably other parts of the world and definitely about to take off here in Australia thanks to the airlines, as usual (3,000 US flu deaths estimated in January alone).

If our useless governments thought we had a really bad "flu" season in Australia last year then this one is shaping up to be an absolute disaster. And, on top of everything else we still have Covid to deal with.

I'm sure our overworked and underpaid hospital workers are already cringing when they think about what's coming this year.

Disgraceful stuff.

Oh, and...

Yes.

And that was by design. And the Australian population swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

Because, once the "powers that be" realised that SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) wasn't going to 'fizzle out' after a year or two like the original SARS did over 20 years ago then "they" decided it was way past time for everything to return to 'normal' (governments and big business going back to making lots of money) and for people to get repeatedly sick and many people (28,000 and counting) to die for their precious economy.

Which was totally inexcusable to any decent person but what made it even worse was the fact that they were (and still are) too cowardly to admit that's what they had decided to do.
