No way we're going to waste our elderly eyesight watching
this sort of visual drivel on the gogglebox. And I certainly
feel for the UK taxpayers...
AU$189 million? Seriously?
The wealth of the royal family, which is also known as “The Firm,”
is estimated at
US$28 billion, according to Forbes.
This is separate from the late Queen Elizabeth's personal fortune
and assets, valued jointly at
US$500 million.
Additionally, The Crown Estate, which manages the monarchy’s
property holdings, is valued at about
US$20.5 billion.
—That the Crown failed to finance this absurd extravaganza is
an absolute disgrace, and an insult to all British taxpayers.
In an 18 April YouGov poll, only
32% of respondents agreed that
the taxpayers should fund the coronation ceremony.
Yep.
I'm all for a republic - always have been.
I'm a volunteer on Peter FitzSimons' team.
I had a lot of respect for Lizzie and, although Chuck is a bit of a dick, I respect him too.
I don't want him as my King though.
But anyway, this is history in the making and I'm watching it.
I can't criticise them if I don't know everything they do.
And hey, Nick Cave is there!
