Do you think she has thin skin for a politician?

It could be more a moral stance against racism ? It probably should not be the basis of a political career.

The tweet was not racist in the slightest way.

Faruqi tweeted:

“I cannot mourn the leader of a racist empire built on stolen lives, land and wealth of colonised peoples.”

She detests the very origins of the country she's done very well in and She's perfectly welcome to that opinion and Pauline should be perfectly welcome to tell her to perhaps find a country to live that offends her less.

Yeah I reckon she should also bugger off back to turd land.

Do you think that's what the courts are for?

Why create a law to stamp out racist behaviour if you expect it to not be used ?

The same legislation that got Bolt - he deserved it as well.

Quote:
As of November 2016, Section 18C is worded as follows:[1]

Offensive behaviour because of race, colour or national or ethnic origin

(1) It is unlawful for a person to do an act, otherwise than in private, if:

(a) the act is reasonably likely, in all the circumstances, to offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate another person or a group of people; and
(b) the act is done because of the race, colour or national or ethnic origin of the other person or of some or all of the people in the group.
Note: Subsection (1) makes certain acts unlawful. Section 46P of the Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986 allows people to make complaints to the Australian Human Rights Commission about unlawful acts. However, an unlawful act is not necessarily a criminal offence. Section 26 says that this Act does not make it an offence to do an act that is unlawful because of this Part, unless Part IV expressly says that the act is an offence.

(2) For the purposes of subsection (1), an act is taken not to be done in private if it:

(a) causes words, sounds, images or writing to be communicated to the public; or
(b) is done in a public place; or
(c) is done in the sight or hearing of people who are in a public place.

Semi-official admission by anti-democratic elite —
we never voted for high immigration:

Back in 1994, launching a book of essays, former prime minister Bob Hawke made the remarkably frank admission that immigration policy had effectively been a conspiracy by the political establishment against the Australian public.

Hawke agreed with one author’s observation that most voters wanted immigration reduced and that the parties had deliberately kept it out of public debate, saying there had indeed been “an implicit pact between the major parties to implement broad policies on immigration that they know are not generally endorsed by the electorate” and that “they have done this by keeping the subject off the political agenda”

You tried to smoke this gun before Bobby ?

Yes from the 70's to the mid 90's both political parties declined to play the race card for political gain. Howard put an end to that basing the next 4 election campaigns on racial hatred.

He did not.

Do you mean Howard did not ?

Howard didn't base an election on the children overboard lie or a couple more on offshore detention or an election campaign on the Aboriginal intervention ? None of that happened right ?

Looks like the facts contradict your "he did not" because he clearly did.

You are right. It is a BS law. Hopefully lunatics like Mehreen will bring and end to it. A country where you can be put in jail for insulting a politician is a very dangerous one. Like Pakistan, which is where she should f off to if she hates Australia so much and wants to play dictators instead.

Do you think people should be put in jail for telling Mehreen to f off back to Pakistan?

Yet he did not shrink from using Racism as a motivator in his election campaigns, Bobby.  He may not haver personally been a Racist but personally I doubt it, he made a calculating play on the concepts of Racism in successive elections.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Right back when Fraser committed to let Vietnamese escaping the vietnam war to come to Australia Howards comment to Fraser was that was just for the media wasn't it you won't really let them into Australia.

John Howard was the last remaining politician who had fought for and voted to keep the white Australia policy.

There is no serious discussion or doubt about Howard on race.

You don't have to be a racist to oppose tinted people being drowned in large numbers in the Timor Sea.

But it sure helps if you want to turn them around and go double or Dead with the risk.

For Howard it was never about the risk it was we will decide who can come here and they won't be that colour.

Children overboard was a despicable lie told by the Prime Minister of Australia.

But they were that colour.

Do you honestly think there was political mileage for a major party in racism when Howard was PM?

Howard tried to help the Abbo kids when they were found with
sexually transmitted diseases - some were under 5 years old.
The Abbos were rooting young kids and even babies.

The Abbo intervention.

They had known all about this for years but just had to act 3 weeks before the election. It was about the election not about the aboriginal children.

There be votes in them there darkies. Just another disgraceful racist Howard election ploy.
