I meant about how gullible some are with simple phone text pretending to be daughter etc
But that eBay ad looks very legit and it’s concerning:
The one thing that was a good hint it’s fake… when the link to terms and conditions don’t work.
Because no one clicks on that anyway.
But if something seems to good to be true… I will click on terms and conditions …
I haven't used Ebay for about 4 years.
I got a lot of good things from eBay like a battery for my laptop.
I only got ripped off on 2 transactions out of about 50 transactions in the last 20 years.
The seller insisted they sent the goods but they never arrived.
They had no proof that they had sent the goods and by the time PayPal
got involved it was too late - 6 weeks was too long for them
as it had passed their time for compensation.
Each time was only small money - about $25.
My last ripoff was buying a watch from catch.com.au for a friend -
they never actually had the watch in stock but took the money.
They credited my PayPal account so I got my money back
after many angry emails.
That's the main problem - you are buying based on a picture -
there is no proof that the item even exists but they will take your money.
