Too many to pick a favourite but I was listening to this earlier.
This guy was amazing - I think this performance was at his 92nd birthday where he held a prime slot at the iridium club - for several years after this.
He also was twice inducted into the inventors hall of fame. He is credited as one of the inventors of the electric guitar and multi-track recording, echo, delay, reverb etc. There was a time when the world's most advanced recording studio was his living room.
Les Paul...
An outstanding musician with a career crossing two centuries.
I came across a busker at my local shopping centre playing a
"Les Paul" guitar, and asked him how he came by it.
He told me, with no shame, that it was only a cheap Chinese-made copy.
BTW, in Australia, the original by Santo and Johnny was a top 40 hit
in Australia back in the day—1959 I think.
I have to say sorry Les, but the steel guitar is the only instrument for this song.
