Rudy Giuliani: Trump Hunt a 'Violation of Due Process'
The potential indictment of former President Donald Trump is eventually "going to be dismissed" and the attempt by George Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is going to backfire, according to former Trump personal attorney Rudy Giuliani.
"Sometimes the prosecution can stink so bad, it just has to be dismissed; basically it's a violation of due process — to be a little more legal about it," Giuliani said.
"Prosecutors have come out against this, and said, 'Hey, don't do this: This will get him elected president,'" Giuliani added. "This is such a miscarriage of justice, it'll get him elected president."
Giuliani denounced the restarted effort of the "zombie" case to find a crime in Trump's hush-money payment to Stormy Daniels, noting the case has been dropped federally and is a mere misdemeanor locally in New York City.
"Well, this would be the final affirmation that this very storied, illustrious district attorney's office has become nothing more than a steep place in an authoritarian state," Giuliani said. "This is a completely political prosecution. It has zero to do with the law — zero.
"This is not a violation of any law, anywhere," Giuliani continued. "First of all, it was investigated by the U.S. attorney's office; and the reason they dropped this case, among others is they declared [former Trump attorney Michael] Cohen completely incredible. They wouldn't support him in front of a federal court."
Giuliani noted Cohen has been convicted and is a known "liar," so using him in the case imperils it.
"I would guarantee you, you give me two hours with this guy on the witness stand and he'll come off crying and wetting his pants," Giuliani said. "He is not just the usual liar. He's the kind of liar that's declared by a federal prosecutor: You can't use him; he's toxic.
"He's toxic not only to the case but to the reputation of the district attorney's office."
Ultimately, the indictment of Trump by Bragg is an indictment of the Democratic Party rule in America, Giuliani concluded.
"This is a great illustration of what's wrong with Biden's Democrat Party," he said. "Bragg isn't just in New York. Soros put about 50 of these people all over America. These are people who dismissed all the cases against the rioters who kill people."
The reason the feds didn't press charges is Dear Leader was in the White House at the time.
Mike lied when defending his boss, Mr Trump. Dear Leader admitted he repaid said hush money back to Mike.
Election fraud is not a misdemeanour. Mike did three years for carrying out his boss' orders.
The only one potentially wetting his pants on the witness stand is your Dear Leader, who refused to appear before the grand jury.
Giuliani can't cross examine any witnesses on the stand. He's been disbarred by the New York bar association for pressing false claims.
It would be a violation of due process if New York did
not charge Mr Trump. His employee has done time for doing his bidding.
Corrupt, third world countries are traditionally known for letting the rich and powerful off - not New York. They're going after the big fish.
Your Dear Leader crying foul and playing the victim is the real political process at play here. He even claims it will get him elected prez.
A grand jury will make the decision to indict, not prosecutors. That's why your Dear Leader's stewing until Tuesday, when a jury of Mr Trump's peers will make the call.
The only defense Mr Trump has is whether the bribes he made were motivated by winning the election or saving his marriage. The case will come down to this, not the political bias of prosecutors, who are merely doing their job of prosecuting crime.
You'll note Giuliani is not claiming any innocence on behalf of his client. If we're talking lies,
Trump will go down. His legal team are already planning their appeal to a friendly court.
Trump, as is his bent, is hoping to create as much social unrest out of this as he can. Get him elected prez?
How many mainstream Republicans are going to select a candidate facing jail time?
That's a question. The Trump base most certainly will. The question for the GOP is how many of its voters still believe in the rule of law.
You?
