Oh, he's guilty of a crime alright.  That's absolutely indisputable.

Paying her off isn't the crime - there's absolutely nothing illegal about that.  Highly immoral, but in no way illegal.

However, when he made eleven payments to his lawyer to pay back the $130,000 and claimed them as legitimate legal expenses he broke the law.  Pure and simple.

And, the payment itself violated state campaign finance law since it was effectively an illegal secret donation to boost his campaign.

Moreover, his lawyer went to prison for it.  If it's not a crime, why did his lawyer go to jail?

There's no doubt whatsoever that Trump broke the law - it's already been proven in his lawyer's court case.

The only question now is: will he be charged for his crimes?

Trumps's lawyers will argue he claimed campaign expences to hide the truth from his family....He could not say it was for a root he had with a porn star....The only problem with this defence is he would have to admit he rooted Stormy after denying it ever happened....Too murky to prosecute IMO???

Huh Huh Huh

The eleven payments aren't murky - he illegally recorded them as legitimate legal expenses.

That's a crime, and he committed it eleven times.

There's absolutely nothing murky about that.

Whether he did it to help his campaign or hide it from his idiot wife is irrelevant - that's a separate crime.

For the sake of the argument, let's say his dopey lawyers win that one.

But he's guilty of recording the payments as legitimate legal expenses - eleven times.

He can't get out of that one - it's rock solid.

The only question is: will he be charged for those eleven crimes?

All the idiot had to do was record them as 'hush money', and he would have been in the clear.

It's not illegal to pay porn stars to keep quiet.

But, because of his greed, he recorded them as legal expenses in order to get the tax deduction.

Big mistake.

Or was it one crime because it was separated only to disguise it's true purpose....Trump did not want his family to know it was hush money....How can anyone say they know what Trump was thinking???

Huh Huh Huh

Phil, you're confusing two different crimes (I know it's hard with Trump, as he's committed so many).

Forget about why he wanted to keep Stormy quiet - let's just all agree that he did it because of his family and that it had absolutely nothing to do with his presidential campaign.

Let's just put that aside, and look at the payments he made to his lawyer.

In fact, to make it simpler, let's just say - for the sake of the argument - that the eleven payments he made to his lawyer were reimbursements for apples that the lawyer had bought for Trump.

Don asked the lawyer to buy him some apples, and the bill came to $130,000 (these are particularly nice apples).

Now, when Don paid back the lawyer in eleven instalments, he recorded all eleven payments as 'legal expenses'.

That's a lie, and it's a crime.

At the end of the day the fruit vendor ended up with $130,000 - not the lawyer.  Paying fruit vendors isn't a legal expense.

Thus, Trump has committed at least eleven crimes.

Why he bought the apples is irrelevant in regards to these particular crimes.

So at the best he will receive a fine....He will not go to jail IMO???

Huh Huh Huh

the left are making a terrible mistake.

this could tie the big fella up in appeals and crap for ages and meanwhile Ron gets the inside running for being the nominee.

if they put ron up against biden, its all over.

the guy is super articulate and super strategic and rarely puts a foot wrong.

trump wouldnt win but ron will not only win, he wins in a landslide.

it might be what the dems want

they seem more comfortable in opposition because they get to complain and play the victim, which is more in keeping with their persona

Which of these two scenarios do you see being more likely:

a) - Meatball Ron wins the GOP nomination and Trump stands aside and says "The better man won, and now I'll give my full support to Ron"? or,

b) -  Meatball Ron wins the GOP nomination and Trump does everything in his power to totally destroy Ron, his family, and the GOP for denying him the position that he thinks is rightfully his?

If you chose a), you truly are a bigger moron than everyone here thought.

Under no circumstances will Trump ever let Meatball Ron win the general election in 2024.

There's more chance of Bobby having sex (with a woman) than that ever happening.

If he wasn't at risk of prison they would be hearing the case at the other grand jury, they are hearing the case in the criminal court.

I also doubt that he would go to prison, they may give him home detention if found guilty. If there were only one charge you would be correct he could not go to prison. However there are likely several pending charges. Because of the way he did it there are breaches to electoral laws and tax laws.

His co-conspirator got 3 years for the same crime.

make america great and give up on sucking off the teat of big government   was trumps message.

that wouldnt vibe with 1 in 10 americans

so we can set trump aside.

if ron is attacked by trump, his status goes up with literally 10's of millions of people in middle america.

the guy is super sharp.

he ignores the petty bs and the woke rubbish and talks about peoples real concerns
law and order, the price of gas, inflation, small business.

the more trump attacks him, the more votes he gets.

and a debate between ron and biden or harris is a no brainer

he demolishes them

hopefully the soros paid for DA can tie trump up in the courts long enough that trump has no cash left to buy media time and hopefully the corrupt big tech and legacy media de-platform trump enough thar ron gets to blossom.

i can see that happening.

another thing.

ron is too savvy to attack trump and he doesnt have to.

he has plenty of morons who are willing to spend 6 years doing nothing but hating on trump

people like gweg and yourself

you do it because you have low self esteem and arent doing well in life.

americans see it

and they find it repulsive

yet another reason ron will keep his lips sealed about trump and not trash talk the big fella.

he knows only losers trash talk donny.

and ron is a winner Smiley Smiley

The more they chase Trump domestically.
The more the Democrats are exposed internationally.

From Forbes: Morning Consult poll (abridged):

•  Trump would lose to Biden by three points in a head-to-head match-
up, while Biden and DeSantis were tied.

•  DeSantis fared better than Trump among Republicans for the most
part, beating Biden by an 83% margin among Republicans overall (versus
80% for Trump) and by 85% among those who voted Republican in the
2022 midterms (versus 77% for Trump).

•  Voters over age 45 were 5 points more likely to prefer DeSantis over
Trump.

•  College-educated voters preferred Biden to either GOP candidate, but
DeSantis still fared 10 points better than Trump.

•  DeSantis was also at least slightly more popular than Trump among
nearly every other demographic polled: women, Democrats, and
Independents.

•  Trump tied DeSantis among men (both beat Biden by 4 points) and
was more popular than him among Black voters and voters under age 45,
though both groups still preferred Biden overall.

Which of these two scenarios do you see as being more likely:

a) - Meatball Ron wins the GOP nomination and Trump stands aside and says "The better man won, and now I'll give my full support to Ron"? or,

b) -  Meatball Ron wins the GOP nomination and Trump does everything in his power to totally destroy Ron, his family, and the GOP for denying him the position that he thinks is rightfully his?

(b) Absolutely.
