I'm laughing because you're an idiot,  that's why.

And yet 'repetition' is the manner of idiocy and your comebacks are always the same. You're basically laughing at yourself. But hey, someone has to laugh for you, eh?

A lot of mining makes a lot of holes.
Something like the belief that removing oil from the crust does 'nothing of consequence'  is bound to collapse.

The toll is up to 17,000 now  Cry
There are some still alive in rubble sending text messsges.

Reading this story with photos of youngsters in a volley ball team really brings it home. Embarrassed

These buildings should’ve had wiggle room to allow for tremor movement without collapsing.
Didn’t people learn from the past?

The death toll is going to be much higher. The cold weather ins't going to help.

Engineering for earthquakes isn't easy or cheap how big is the earthquake your design has to withstand?

The problem is a lot of those buildings were built before any building standards for quakes.

The frequency of tremors is why some still stand while others fall. Tall buildings can still be standing while short ones fall and vice versa depending on frequency.

We're lucky here it's the Kiwis up to Asia where it becomes a problem.

So…. Removing billions of barrels of thick crude gluggy oil from beneath the earth surely must be leaving gaps to make earth move and them plates move too. It’s a sort of displacement.
But what would I know. I’m just seeing it for what it is.
This earth… we keep taking and taking….

I do not know what sort of effect empty oil fields have on the environment. But, tectonic plates are not affected in movement by emptied oil fields.

Is this the same country that raped, pillaged, genocided, destroyed a lot of Europe?
Is this the same country that genocides Kurds because they look white and European?

Turkey was struck by a series of earthquakes measuring up to 7.8 on the Richter scale. Which countries have experienced the most earthquakes of over 6 on the scale since 1 January 2020?

Indonesia 41

Papua New Guinea 24

Philippines 23

South Sandwich Islands, US, Vanuatu 22

Chile 19

Japan 17

Fiji 15

Tonga 13

Explosions used in mining can lead to earthquakes. But the explosions might only cause earlier and less powerful earthquakes. They would not exacerbate earthquakes or create new ones. Just different.

Removing oil, gas, and other natural resources from the ground would do minimal changes to tectonic plate movements. Mines might collapse or have some kind of environmental impact over time. But, other than that, there is not much that mine would do to impact tectonic plates.
