The “problem” with a high dry malt Pack—you really need to dissolve the dry extract/dextrose mix in 2L cold water then boil that for 5-10 minutes. Problems with that is:

1. Too much work for some!

2. Boil wort—you get froth rising up quickly near boiling, threatening to boil over. While keepinbg the heat high you need to blow or spray cold water on the froth or stir furiously. Way too much work for some. Pity—you can add some hops to the boil, give your beer a nice hoppy smell.

Once you have mastered step 2—not hard, just do not turn the heat down if the froth threatens to boil over, stir/blow/spray water harder, need a vigorous boil—you can steep grains and add the wort from that to your malt extract/dextrose wort. Part and full mash brewing are not far away.
