The problem with Alice.

The problem with Alice isn't just a Cheer Mob thing.

Alice Springs used to be a neat place to live. Back in the Leyland Bros days - you could camp anywhere around Uluru and things were laid back.

These days - Uluru has become Rip Off Rock.
Tourism has turned a nice place to live into nothing more than a money making 'Business' town. Whiteys setting up shop to rip off the tourists and the 'local' identity is pushed aside. No different to what has happened to Byron Bay and Albany. The chasm between rich and poor has widened a lot over the decades. It's all about exploiting - be it Uluru, Aborigine Art and more.
Australian Tourism is renowned for being a rip-off, similar to the American Health System. Pay more for less. Are there many Aborigines making good money selling their artworks for the usual $50,000 etc after commission by the Dealers?

This always happens to places that change from being a place to 'live' to a place that becomes a CBD Central Business District. Little mini-city entities where its all about $$$. Little wonder the 'family' culture is compromised or priced out along with locals in general, like in Byron Bay and Albany.

Those Whiteys are probably upset about losing $$$ for business and having their house's selling value lowered.

It's no longer a Town like Alice. It's a Business like Alice.
No wonder kids feel dispossessed around there. It's a Town divided by rich and poor now - no longer a town where things come together.

Don't expect much from the Government. It's all about China remember. No money to be made by Black people or trade with Africa.

Isn't it glorious to finally recover your files from your old computer...... here is the news .... while it may not be absolutely reflective of the actual events and dramatis personae in The Alice now - it is more than apt and carries a huge bite:-
